Glad it is running again.  Just a thought - are the pump diaphragms compatible with e10 fuel? No ethanol to speak of in Maestro-era fuel.

Well a day of mixed emotions as I am heading to port (Schiedam) to demobilise for the last time. Sad to realise it will be the last time I will look closely at rigs from the sea after 35 years - glad it is all over! Tomorrow I fly home and Saturday morning I start my retirement! It should mean more pictures of cars and less of the sea on here.....

Mk1 Transit pickups in UK always had the seperate wooden or aluminium truck beds over a chassis-cab vehicle. The European and South African markets had these steel truck beds styled to match the cab.

Asimo reacted to Missy Charm in Where did Anne Naysmith’s Ford Consul go?
An informative piece about Miss Naysmith and her life can be found here: https://josephclift.com/writing/miss-naysmith/.  It contains various details not seen elsewhere as well as - for those here - another photo of the Ford Consul.  The red Mercedes that replaced it was, apparently, torched; people these days forget how much crime there was twenty years ago.
Naysmith seems to have been the architect of the life she led; rejecting of society rather than, as observers assumed, rejected by it.  It's a case that raises interesting an interesting ethical question, namely should that sort of thing be allowed?  At some level her choices would have been detrimental to others and her behaviour, at times, left a lot to be desired, but that's one of the prices of liberty.  But the counter-argument is that we are straitjacketed by convention and cannot comprehend such a life of apparent autonomy.  We can't all live like that.  Ought one or two of us do so, if only to hold a mirror up to the majority?
Incidentally, the verse on the side of the Consul is from Dacre's 'I'll be Your Sweetheart', an 1899 music hall number.

You might be able to give them away these days, but I doubt you could sell a Sinclair C5 for £1150, even to a facebook fan.  £1150 is Citroen C5 money!
    Or 2.1  Xantia wagon money...

Small job today. The way the driver and passenger seats were in was a right lashup. Not me this time honest!
I have the seats that @SiCdonated but they are next winters project as there's a bit of fettling needed and I'm busy enough at the moment. However, I wanted to make some proper subframes which would suit the current seats and any future ones. So I did a bit of drawing and my mate made me these.
I did a trail fit with the passenger seat, a bit of cutting and welding to change a few bits then he made me another set as copies and powder coated them!
So today I put it all in proper.
Carpets out and look at those lovely solid floors!
    Drilling and fitting.
Swarf cleaned out and a bit of paint chucked about. Obvs that was just the primer but then i got carried away and forgot to take photos!
Clean my tools and shit up whilst the paint dries.
Even time for a quick brew!
    And done.
Whilst i appreciate it doesnt look any differant, there are two major improvements. One being that the seats are now properly secured to the car and properly safe.
More importantly (🤣) i drew the subframes to sit as low in the car as it is possible to go. As a result the seats are now a good 2 inch lower. So where as before you sat "on" the car with your head near touching the headlining, now you sit well "in". The driving position is massively better! Lovely to drive home. Well pleased.
(As a bonus, aside from a couple of 8mm holes, the new subframes involved no alterations to the floor pan. So if anyone wanted to put the car back to original, the frames unbolt and all the original captive nuts and the rear seat cups are still there.)
    Cheers all.
