Well things have gone from good to fantastic for me in the last few days.
 
Work has really picked up and I got a pat on the head from the MD for my 'commitment' to the cause, I then improved the situation further by chainsawing the dead tree in the car park down, and allowed the MD to have a go - apparently his first ever go with a real chainsaw. He was mightily pleased with being given the opportunity. The icing on the cake is that we're all to receive christmas bonuses too this year.
 
The Almera was put for some welding, the chap gave it a look-over and said its fixable, he's chopped out about half the sill, fabricated a new one, welded it in, stonechipped it and cured the squeak from the front brakes all for the pricely sum of £60.00 (yes, sixty quid!) - so I'm now fully ready for the MOT in a fortnight. Only a few weeks ago I was seriously contemplating getting it cubed as I thought the work that was going to be required would be north of £600. seems I was 1000% too pessimistic!
 
Finally, I mustered the energy to go out to my old stamping grounds in Portsmouth last night for a Halloween shindig and had an absolute whale of a time. Met some old faces I've not seen in years, met some new faces who hopefully will become friends and had an all-round great time. Even better, as I was driving I couldn't drink, so spent the sum total of £8.40 the whole night - that included a pub and a club. and they say there's no such thing as a cheap night out any more. Got in at 2.30am and feel like less of a grumpy old hermit than I have done for the past 3 years. Even have some energy left today to enjoy spending time with my daughter who's just turned 5.
 
And I bought a lottery ticket, so fingers crossed for later

Possibly a one-off, the only place I can find anything is on 124.de and it's all in Welsh or summat.

P4 West reports: The city of Trollhättan, SAAB AB and The Wallenberg foundations – those are the ones who make sure that the Saab Museum will stay in Trollhättan. Together they have paid 28 million SEK for the whole collection.
A lot has happened since Saab filed for bankruptcy in december. Two bankruptcy administrators were appointed and later on a third joined in.
They quickly realized that more money was needed to keep the bankruptcy proceedings alive and quickly it was established that the Saab Cars Museum could bring in the first millions.
And now it’s a done deal, the museum will remain in Trollhättan. The running costs of the museum, will be handled by the city of Trollhättan and Västragötalandsregionen (regional government). P4 West have previous reported that the region, the city and a collection of Saab-veterans wanted to take over the running of the museum.
