Probably still a better bet in that state than the van I’ve just bought

So here we are
All I need to do tomorrow is bring my large torx set to work and have the steering wheel off and the indicator stalk out, and I am (I think) done with YT55 ENP. Bit sad in a way, certainly the highest spec posh car I've ever had, thanks for letting me have a go of it Kiltox, want it back?
Also filmed the dashboard startup sequence and made it into a fun GIF
In new car news, the middle 2 12v socket's don't work, the horror, especially since I plug my phone charger into the cubby hole one. Have got the working sockets out of the old car, and will have a look at some point, plugging in a known working socket reveals it's still dead so will have a look at fuses incase the dash and boot ones run off a different one. Not too high a priority though...

Keep a photo of YT55's current state in new old 'un, you can threat it with the same fate when it all goes a bit renault.

It will be a local scrap yard that is using CTB to find customers. CTB don't buy cars themselves, they are an aggregator.
Try RemoveMyCar too

So, the Transit turned up on Thursday as expected. As it turned out, i got the day off due to weather so could greet it when it arrived on the flatbed.
As it was on a flatbed, i had a good look underneath.
My first comment to the seller was "Christ, I'm glad its already MOTed."
Been on dodgy MOTs a couple of years looking at it. It's not horrendous underneath but clearly should be better.
Still, it was only £500 delivered so i didn't expect anything less.
Wheel bearing, as described, was PROPERLY kippered. No needles left at all, undriveable. Sorted that in a couple of hours and took it for a test drive.
It wasn't too bad at all, bit wandery still and brakes started to grind if pressed heavily and notchy power steering at idle. I went to the parts place after having a look at it and bought new pads and a track rod end and fitted them.
Much better. Just the power steering belt and tensioner and a part worn tire to fit and it should be good for a while.
Very pleased with it. Even fitted it with shelving today and cleaned out the inch of shit all over the cab. Pics when i can be arswd in the near future.

Guy was a mechanic, plumbers have leaky taps, gardeners have scruffy gardens etc etc
still making a decision on tyres, decided I don't want blingy wheels so new tyres on the originals are probably the best option, been reading good things about Landsail tyres actually, B rated for wet braking C for fuel and about £70 each in 255 60 18

I'm meant to be working, but here's a quick photo I took while in the garage earlier.
That's the fire extinguisher and oil jug that came with the car.

I’ve made a REALLY STUPID eBay purchase but the seller (despite being all “no time wasters collection within 2 minutes of the auction end” etc) has gone radio silent.
May have dodged a bullet but fuck eBay.

Just got the V5 , I'm only the 3rd owner, first guy had it 11 years from new , 2nd 3 years then me
also found out why the engine was knackered, owner no 2 hadn't changed the oil , probably in the 3 years he'd owned it , steve said when he took the sump off the bottom of it was like tar , took him 1/2 an hour in the parts washer to get it clean to fit on the new engine, so replace the engine was the right choice.
He's hoping to have it running tomorrow so maybe ready to roll Tuesday or Wednesday
