I used the sedan about ten times last year, if that. Couple of shows and runs on nice days.
Coming out the house to it every day, I felt bad looking at it. It wanted for nothing, but left me lacking enthusiasm, and I've been taking my hatch Civic out over it every time. Drove it around Christmas and it felt weird. Not right, I'd fallen out of love with it. I drove it again on Valentine's day and I just knew it wasn't right any more. The Yaris has taken up its practical side, and the hatch Civic my passion and the fun side. What use was it to me?
My friend needed to borrow a car. I lent it out, 'cause I trust her with it.

And well, she's ended up keeping it, cause she loves it. I've got my money back on it and it's gone on to a great home where I'll still see it about. Driving around with it there with me is surreal, but it's the right thing. I'm glad it's being used and that I get to vicariously enjoy it.
It's in good hands, it's with a certain Favorit owner who doesn't do things by halves...
It's been a sweet two and a half years. But sometimes, if you love things, you need to set them free.

That's not a Rover thing, that's poor design on Honda's part and is a blight on contemporary Civics, Accords, Concerto etc.

Thought i'd post another update seeing i have not done recently. Having done the Trailing arm for the Passenger side ive recently started work on the Drivers side. I Even decided to record it i have a small YT channel with the odd video here and there on stuff but i'd love to try and record the progress of the work i am doing on the Civic, And hopefully it would help out other people with the same car even with those who own 400/45/ZS's as they share the same suspension. So i did a little Disassembly video its a bit cheesy with the voiceover and music but wind noise was terrible.
Other than that, Here are some Photos of the Drivers side Sill and Wheel Arch, Hopefully my welding and fabrication work is good enough to get this side done lol.

Rear calipers on these always seize, even if they look like they're working they can drag. I'd just replace them, but fair enough if you want to give rebuilding a try.

Hate to say it chap but you need to kick back and say fuck off to it all. I know we all tell you this but really, you should do it. There is no point moaning about it if you are going to simply keep on doing it. You will feel much better when you do.
Stress, running about, pissed off= early time in the ground.

    Been a while hasnt it?
The daily updates thing failed, because i failed. Some of the days i last posted about i was actually off work at the time. I had been given time off after id just broken down mentally one morning driving to work. Everything just seemed to come to the surface and i couldnt hold it down anymore. Id not been right and knew it was coming it was only a matter of time.
Moving forward, the workshop visits got less and less. I did a "fuck it why not" buy and that just got parked inside. I worked on a few others cars to help them as while i wasnt enjoying working on  cars i do enjoy helping people and that in turn made me feel a bit better. I had some good days and some bad.
As we all know things take time and as the past few months have gone by ive got to a much happier place im glad to say, probably feeling the most like myself than i have in many years. I still have things to change but for now, im happy.
Exploring local woodlands solo or with a great friend has been a thing im trying to do more of

And how does one get to these places?
By noble steed, now approaching 178k might i add. Not much to report, a few unwanted potholes has knocked the alignment out and its feels a bit off on the bends. An occasional stumble in the revs shows its head randomly too. A service and tracking to be done in the next few weeks.

The christmas break see some mojo appear and i got in the workshop for a few days. Just doing whatever i fancied. I have to remember this is a fun hobby. Not a job so i can pick and choose, and leave when the fun stops.

GT spec. Fair enough there are plenty.
Diesel GT. Now you're getting more specific. Diesel TORK for towing (I'll be putting a tow bar on in due course).
2.0 Diesel GT. Even more specific. I've even viewed three 1.6TDI GTs all the same colour but all Motorpoint. Shower of wankers.
2.0 Diesel GT with auto climate. Now we're beginning to hunt unicorns. SE, Match and GT trim levels on the Mk7/7.5 come as standard with full manual HVAC controls. At this price point? Fuck right off.
Also it's genuine VW Approved Used so - 2 years VW warranty, 2 years breakdown assist, 5 days complimentary drive away insurance and £750 worth of repairs to anything that causes an MOT failure in the first two years.
Also being main dealer the guy went out his way to get stuff done. It's had a full major service before pick up (£450 worth inc two new tyres and some new wipers), new parcel shelf because the old one was a bit chewed (suspect dog) and the plates for the private reg were free. Brand new SD card for the nav too. He also said that it was a bit hard starting so if I have any bother with it in the first while then to email him and he'll arrange a new AGM battery.
Very very very much this. It's a special order colour, Tornado Red
    Also, Teletubbytebay

Possibly a daft question, but what's so special about it that it was worth going nearly to France for?  I could understand coming to the arse end of Norfolk for the V70 'cos they're a bit rare, but surely there are modern diesel Golfs in Scotland?

Cav gone to an excited young lad from Fife, on a mad collection mission with some mates that also involved picking a CL500 up from Norwich!

Well I was on the way to look at a car, after the seller phoned me last night and arranged a time with me to view it.

I'm halfway there and the cunt phones me and says he's sold it and he wanted to make sure I wasn't on the way.
If you've got someone else viewing the car you should fucking well say so.

V5 landed for the S class so it'll be available for sale once I've got some plates made up.
WagonR- no progress. Dad is trying pointless things like different code readers, disconnecting the battery and the IAT sensor (?) to try and fix it to no avail.

S class has made it back here. It had just had a new battery installed by the RAC as it'd shat.
Glow plugs and AC compressor have been replaced at significant expense.
It's alright - drives like a 124 with slightly better handling. Slightly too many buttons and things, but loads of nice features.  Air suspension good. Could have been comfier.
Felt reasonably torquey but nothing special - after some fresh diesel it properly pulls now.
There's a knocking noise that sounds like it's coming from the prop under load, the radio has shat itself and only plays deafening static (though apparently this is common on COMAND and just comes and goes), and the throttle position sensor keeps throwing EMLs that put it in limp - thankfully I had a cheap OBD reader with me so I could clear those so as not to impede progress.

The WagonR also got stuck in limp and limited itself to something like 50kmh, I managed to lose my dad in the process somewhere on the A1 so he's had to call the AA.
We really like the WagonR - dad was smitten with it til it went into limp, hopefully there's nothing too seriously wrong with it, he's been trying to convince my mum into it.
It's probably grumpy from being underused at the moment - it's 11 years old but only has 30k km on the clock, and was probably sitting around a lot in the import process.

Also, the 'grille' on the WagonR lights up!
