The Bluebird has a slightly binding n/s/f brake, so I whipped the caliper off. Hrmm, the lack of dust seal and this piston would explain it...

I'm hopeful that a seal kit and a new piston, now on order, will sort it.
Obligatory Capri pic. Hopefully getting a nice few long runs over the summer months.

I noticed that the middle of the '9' had fallen out. Pressed plate which has done 5 odd years and 20,000 miles I think we'll let it off. Luckily I had a bit of masking tape to improvise...

Those on the beige that know me… know I love all things Peugeot Talbot Sport.. hence this post! (Admins feel free to move if you believe it’s in the wrong area).
The second week in January sees myself and partner head off to the French Alps to watch this spectacle.
I will of course have photos and videos to post once there… with any luck there’ll be some other interesting vehicles in attendance!

Pictures do not convey the eye-searing colour. I rather like the VX220 and this has to be the best one I've seen

    Bloody brilliant car, this.

It's been carting us around Snowdonia in total comfort for the last few days and so much nicer to travel in than the M2 pictured next to it. Which cost more than 30 times what this Saab did...

I had to change a headlight bulb yesterday which cost £53 and was a bit of a pig to get done but Xenons last forever so I shouldn't need to do that again.
It's been a truly lovely way to get around!

    I like this car. Lots.

Its previous owner @Wgl2019 has clearly taken great care of it, it looks like it's done barely half of its 157k miles!

I bought a big Swede from Scouseland.

Thanks to @Wgl2019 for the easy sale!
Long drive back home now so I'll report back again later!

It has been a great first day of 2023 for car stuff.
It was Stony Stratford New Years Day Classic event where the whole town is shut down for cars from 1900 to late model super cars along with Military vehicles, bikes and other odd things like tractors.
Getting up at 7am this morning seemed tough but the reward was a ride in ianbmw's Opel Monza GSE. Knowing there was also a chance I could drive the Monza home as Ian had his company prize Porsche 924S already there on show to be given away later in the year. Because I am unlikely to see the 924S again but the Monza is Ian's and local when I was offered the choice of driving the 924S or the Monza I requested  Porsche. For extra greatness of the day I have got to keep the 924S until tomorrow.
I left home this morning in @Andyrew  Astra and returned in the Porsche 924S, I had to reassure Mrs6C this was a temporary situation and I had not purchased a car on day one of 2023!

Yes, the unpainted grey bumpers eventually disappeared, and from that point on all models had shiny painted ones. I am not 100% sure, but I think this happened with model year 1993, when other changes (introduction of the 2.0 engine and S version) were introduced as well. Mine is an early MY 1993 (built in 1992) entry level S, and the painted bumpers are original.

I spotted a bit of a local landmark at Walmart Asda just now. One of the young lads who's a driver for Dominos dailies this breadvan. It's clean as a pin - kudos to him for choosing this over a modern blob.

Most of my photos from the day are on film so will be a little while before we see them.

There were a heck of a lot of Metros there today!

This one of course being my favourite for obvious reasons...

Always a good event though.  A lot of single marque shows can be a bit samey I find, but given how diverse BL's portfolio was this is always interesting.
I'd honestly forgotten this even existed in convertible form.

An SD1 is always worth a photo too, and always looks great.

This one is definitely quite a rarity though.

Can't be many of those left.

Interestingly enough, on a recent trip home to Scotland, I saw very little in terms of older cars. However, of those, 75’s seemed to make up a disproportionate amount!
