Great TG video! I clearly recall many years ago making fairly decent progress in my Capri 2.8i when out of the blue a red stock looking Polonez blasted past me. Gawd knows what had been done to it!

My head teacher at primary school had an 1100 special. They same as rare as rocking horse shit now. Smart things with a steering wheel I've not seen on any mini or BL car before or since, a 3 dial dash, and wheel trims that looked a bit like the Dunlop safety wheels. All of them specials were silver too if I'm remembering it right
Edit
They weren't all silver (though his was) and the trims actually were alloys)

I nearly bought a turbo years ago. In more recent years, I had the opportunity to drive an 8.32 which was a great experience. Seem to recall you really had to take it by the scruff of the neck to get the best out of it!
oh and the electric rear headrests - mental

Nice. I've driven an 8.32, which is the closest I've come to driving a Ferrari, and it was pretty fucking great, but I'd rather have this tbh

Trigger - thanks for putting the effort into this - prime Autoshite thread this - absolutely superb. The stuff you have owned is way more interesting to me than Ferraris, Lambos etc.

This made a quick appearance in 2013, a workmate needed to sell it quick and offered it to me for £250, he dropped it off on the Friday, i spent the next couple of days polishing it to a inch of it's life, fixed a couple of things and sold it to another friend for £500 on the Sunday
the Mondeo ST also got traded in for this grey Focus which was a utter piece of unreliable crap, i don't get on with grey Focus's.
but back to shite in 2013 whilst on ebay i saw this 1976 Honda Civic locally to me and decided it was worth a look, i went to the owners house and this is how it looked.
He had inherited it of his auntie but only wanted the number plate, we agreed on £1000 for it and i took it home.
I spent months going right through the car, had the rusty bits repaired and polished it up, it was a lovely car, miles ahead of anything we built in the UK at the time, the engine was nippy and fairly refined, i like my BL stuff but god knows why you would buy a Allegro over one of these but Japanese cars weren't so popular back then
I then got asked to display it on behalf of Honda at the BTCC at Brands Hatch in 2014 and got to meet these too
This was one of them cars that if i had a massive barn and loads of money I'd still have it now

What was the idea of the cage on the roof and the 'remote' boot opener?

Right. First stint done (test day). This is honestly the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done. Zero track etiquette, 115 cars, huge difference in vehicles and a lot of very mental people. Track is fast and tricky. Recommended.
First race session tomorrow.
I could have written exactly this the other month. Ours had 101 cars and there were a lot of very “unlemonesque” proper race cars - they were going past me like scud missiles!

I am never, ever drinking again. My organs and bank balance can’t take it.
Coffee is five bloody quid. Vehicles here are predictably massive and horrible. I’m hoping to spot some chod when we get out of Boston. Racewear I’ve rented is here, it pongs a bit, HANS device looks like some sex apparatus and is uncomfortable. It’s pissing with rain and our racecar has no roof and no heater. I’m chomping through painkillers and am never drinking again
Oh, and the hotel is some gay hotspot with communal showers and bunk beds with romantic lyrics above them.

Last month I made my own racing debut in a similar 24 Hours de Lemons here in NZ. There were a total of 101 cars competing - it was every emotion from terrifying through to exhilarating! Our race car was an early E36 320i. For some reason it is not letting me upload any photos to my post
Having another go at uploading pics

Thanks for taking the effort to start a thread for this - I was one of the guilty parties asking for this!
You have done a great job resurrecting in it in such a short period of time! Crystal Blue really is a lovely colour - I haven’t owned a Capri in that colour…. yet.
Hoping to get my 3.0S out of storage before the end of this year

I spent a few hours on Wednesday attacking the bodywork of the Crapi to wash the 19 years of spider shit off it, I'll let the photos do the talking.
And after...
Quite a change, unfortunately I forgot to get a engine bay photo but that's cleaned up well although there's still a shit load to do under there as yet, once the parts start turning up.
Wow - what a transformation 👍

Yup that is mine! Thanks for the advance warning at least 😀

Rob - have spotted this cracking Xedos on my manor a couple of times. I was surprised to note that it was a spanish too - I had incorrectly assumed they were two pedal only
