Even just taking it around the yard was enough to remember how lovely and agile it felt . Really looking forward to using this a bit . Next job is to take all the coolant hoses off and clean up the stubs where they fit as they are getting furry and give the system a good flush . Dad always kept good anti freeze in it so hopefully not too many horrors . I know there is at least one coolant pipe that has been “ dadded “ which needs to be replaced . Unfortunately it’s a pre moulded shape and different sizes at each end . I’ve been stock piling random coolant hoses for a while so hopefully I can sort something out . It’s starting on the button lovely now so that’s a moral boost in any project . All the electrics inc radio still work fine too . This MOT will be its last one too as it turns 40 next year. That will be my second “ free” vehicle on the fleet after the KE175 . ( family has owned it almost as long )

Some progress ! Got a new old stock carb from Italy . They are different from 104s and sambas which is a pain in the ass . Just given the engine a good jet wash off and ran it back up to dry it out . Ive booked a few days on it in March to undo dad’s bodges and hopefully get it mot ready .

Generally ok . Egr failure is common and a subframe down job to replace it . yes I’m sure some bleating hero’s will say it can be done without but I like to do it properly and not lose skin . Injectors just fail randomly and we’re on back order for a bit but available now I believe . Not cheap tho . Otherwise I’ve not seen any other problems with them

I had an old shoei lid which I never felt comfy in and had horrendous wind noise no matter what I or any shops did . I had always been a Shoei man and owned 3 or 4 now . I bought a barely used HJC of FB for £70 and it’s so much better than the shoei . Quieter , lighter and fits perfectly . Some of these “ premium “ brands are getting carried away with pricing and trading purely on the name .

I’ve had success with the Power Maxxed turbo cleaning 5 piece kit . Still a bit of a fuck about . Its not the lever pivot that seizes but the vanes inside so don’t go silly trying to put more force through the lever to free it off as it will prob break something

Most engines I don’t care about turning them backwards but the petrol Ford motors have a purely spring loaded cam belt tensioner which gives me the ick about rotating backwards

If it’s a single belt set up then you don’t need the tool . Just wind it on like you would a push bike chain when you were a kid

Bit more in depth than that . It uses a sunlight sensor and outside temp sensors to divert cool air to your face when it’s sunny bit still warm to your feet etc . And a few other functions At least the Honda climate control does when on full auto .

The E-Up has a few Cruise control telltale - right behind the speedo needle at 70-75mph HVAC reverts to 22 deg and ac on every time you get in No gutters so any amount of window opening pisses water straight in like a series 3 landy Lane keep assistance switches on every time . I expect this is a ncap thing tho Goona 3 - the high beam tell tale is hidden by the steering wheel in my driving position
