  1. I wonder if this inspired the ‘split rear screen’ styling for the 1970s Mini Clubman estate.
  2. The Allegro Equipe is the car the Golf GTI could have been.
  3. I came across this RS200 at a classic car pub gathering and got quite close before I realised it wasn't a RS200. Had to investigate and turns out it's a Autozam AZ-1. Made by Mazda in the early 90s, gullwing doors and a 650cc turbocharged Suzuki Alto engine.
  4. Nice Versatile Seventy! Is it sad that I guessed from the AS sticker photo?
  5. Looks very Volvoy. V70? S60? Or is that your other one and not the new car?

  7. B366NRY up for sale on Car and Classic... https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1485369
  8. One of the only things keeping me on facebook is the group ‘British road scenes 1955-1995’, some lovely pics on there.
  9. Welcome! Nice selection of Ovlovs. We had a V40 identical but grey. Now have a D5 V70 but looking to move it on. Would happily only own Volvos from now on, there’s something about them I like!
  10. Best AS thread opener ever! I spotted a Quadra drive past me in SE London earlier this year so they are still about.
  11. The market for the Renault 7 must have been mega conservative: not only a traditional boot but they ditched the R5’s innovative plastic bumpers too.
  12. Not fictional but I’d happily put up with a V16
  13. Here's a few spots from the first half of this year. Not sure if we're still doing spotted threads on here but thought these were too interesting to ignore... Early XJ-S on a P reg, with those gorgeous early alloys. Not sure about later XJSess but to my eyes these early ones have aged really well and look '70s elegant' in the same way early E types look '60's elegant', if you know what I mean. A high point of 70s car design and great to see it being used as a daily. A couple of cars we've driven past a lot but finally got the chance to walk past and have a better look. What a hero running an H reg Carlton as the sensible car. Passed by a few weeks later and this CX was parked up in the same place. Also fab alloys. I was out on a date with with Bob Outlaw118 when we spotted this 944 parked up in London's posh Kensington. Devin Townsend at Albert Hall before you ask. This Vitesse was parked outside Gaydon in May when I was up there for the UK Slotfest. Looks so good in red, only ever seen them in muted colours before. Spotted this 924S up a side road in SE London, showing all the signs of being in regular use. Looked tiny next to the pick up. Dungeness Ford Probe. These appear to be ageing well, first one I've ever given a second look. Another Vitesse. Heroic Driveway in Walthamstow. Cornish Calibra. Couldn't tell you the last time I saw one, where did they all go? Spotted a matching Tigra too but couldn't get the camera out quick enough before it drive off. Not sure what this geometric beauty was but it had a three pointed star on the front. A pair of chods looking neglected. The Micra in particular had some excellent patina developing.
  14. Well... the Dark Beast has been up for sale on here for 2 months and after literally no interest at all, I thought I’d update this thread since it’s wafted us to Cornwall. Here’s some photos of it lurking furtively on Dartmoor the other day. For Sale thread here:
  15. I’m so upset by this whole thread. It needs reporting to the internet police.
  16. Excellent!really like these. Lots more photos please!
  17. Great to see you’ve added to the small number of road worthy 924s left. Lots of 924s have been seriously bodged during that bit of their life when they were hated and absolutely worthless.
  18. Theres a Nova cabriolet with its original owner recently appeared just down the road from here. Haven’t been able to get a photo yet.
  19. That’s an absolutely gorgeous dash, what car is it?
  20. Because London is 2 hours driving from one side to the other. I live on the edge of South London but can get to Dover quicker than I can get to the north half of London, whereas other bits of London are 15 mins away. It’s really frustrating on ebay, autotrader, anywhere that there’s the option to put location as ‘London’. Postcode would at least give you some idea. SE14, NW1 tell you a lot more than ‘London’.
  21. Wow! Great collection of stuff, thanks for the photos.
