...and I bet this one single contract made all the hard work building up his company totally worthwhile...

It pleased me greatly when I found out my old school was being demolished. If I'd been less skint I would have volunteered to work on the demolition for nothing. I was less pleased to find that they were leaving the facade.

This probably belongs in the Grin thread.
Neil Skene, the MD of the demo company, was in my year at school. I reckon the guys standing in the background were former pupils too because it sounded as if Mr Galloway's office was being demolished manually.

A Range Rover is a Range Rover though, any distinction should be made in the later models. Adding a qualifier to the original Range Rover diminishes it. I know Land Rover used the badge but so did Ford with the Mk3 Fiesta and you don't see people referring to them as FFC.

I wish people would stop saying Range Rover Classic. It's a Range Rover. See also SAAB 900 and Mini.

One of the things I liked about my Volvo 940 Estate, a car that was sold on its bulk and weight, was how compact it was. It looked tiny in the drive and I could get the wheely bin around it.
A while ago I joked with somebody that the Vauxhall Astra was heavier than a Jaguar XJ12, after a bit of research it turned out to be true for some versions of the Astra.

Richard got a reaction from Twiggy in Shite collection planning...Megabus or Railway?
I went to London on the Megabus about ten years ago for a total of £2.50 return. The bus has the advantage that you will get a seat, while on the train you might be lucky to get enough room to put both feet on the floor at once.

Richard got a reaction from michael1703 in Wheel nut woes - same size socket will do
Helicoils would do the job but if it was me I'd be happier with a replacement hub. There's always the risk of winding a helicoil out when you have to change a wheel at the side of the road in the pissing rain.

That used to belong to my work. It's had a really hard life, it was always loaded up close to capacity and the driver got about five speeding tickets in it. For reasons best known to himself he power hosed the interior just before Clarksons collected it, which caused all sorts of clicks and buzzes from behind the dashboard, sounds like the locking hasn't got over it. It always did lock the doors as soon as you moved off. It was forever stalling too, which seems to be a standard Transit feature.

This week I 'ave mostly been getting back up to speed on old BMW flat twins, and in my international search for information on the difference between a Bing 64/32/202 and a 64/32/222 I "came across" this place....

Has anybody drilled a hole in their fingernail to let blood out when you bash it? Does it work?
