That’s what I was thinking, I had a similar problem on my Zodiac a few years back and I found a break in a wire between the ignition and coil. Electronic ignition is also a must do…

Sorry dude, I don’t have any pics but it’s a really straightforward job, I still can’t believe that Mercedes cocked up with this simple design error that’s had a detrimental effect on many SLK’s…

I had the front wings on our R172 SLK replaced with genuine Mercedes panels due to rot caused by the same crap design of the inner plastic wheel arch having an opening on the leading edge allowing water and other detritus being thrown in by the front tyres. I’ve modified this with some rubber matting sikaflexed in over the gap.

As already mentioned, when it comes to cars the vast majority are clueless and just don’t care about maintenance and safety so any proposed changes to the annual MOT is a recipe for disaster, just the simple things like checking fluid levels and tyre pressures weekly eludes the masses, I can’t believe the Government is even considering this as they have more pressing issues to deal with.

How did you get those plates with the Scottish flag Tam? I only asked for a Devon flag on some plates a few months ago and was flatly refused “as it’s not legal blah blah blah bollocks” Very cool ‘ private’ number by the way!
