  1. Check out this tidy looking E36 320i Coupe for sale on the 5 series forum for £750. So what I hear you say....well this thing has 432,000 miles on it on the same clutch. The gearbox and engine have never been opened apparantly. I'd roll it to half a mill.. http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=73133
  2. I'm fitting a new water pump to my 2600 SD1 tomorrow. I've never done one before so am hoping I don't kill it. It's got a new gasket with the pump but should I also smear it all in gasket paste to be sure or will the new gasket be enough?
  3. That Cortina van really is something else.
  4. Not shite but yet another lovely Fiat I didn't know existed. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1969-FIAT-DINO-SPYDER-RED-/110676509925?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item19c4d584e5
  5. Live the dream http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2723392.htm
  6. It's worse then I thought it was as well then. I had a complete new Ford Front end for it including bumpers, wings, front panel and bonnet I gave him to him for hardly anything as I thought it might need it. I enjoyed having it. I sold it for £500 or something then got a bargain xr4i from ebay so I didn't really lose anything. It did look good from 20 feet away or so.
  7. Have you ever seen that Black mk4 2.3v6 Ghia I bought off you anywhere Dave? I sold it to a guy over in fife about 3-4 years ago with a load of new panels but haven't seen or heard of it since. They guy's on buysellcortina but there's never any mention of it.
  8. The water pump on my SD1's thrown a wobbler. Literally. It's rattling like a tramp without special brew. For what ever reason the pulley on the front has come loose, which in turn is making the fan wobble like crazy making a spectacular racket. If it dislodges itself while running I suspect it'll make a right old mess. Anyway, new one order from ebay for £26 including delivery and gasket so that'll be this weekends knuckle skinner.
  9. I've just been at the local scrappies on the look out for some SAAB front leathers seats. Sitting right in the middle was, what was a real lovely V reg BMW 728i Sport. What a lovely car that must have been. It must have suffered fatal mechanicals to end up in there as genuine e38 sports make good money. When I opened up the boot there front struts where in there with a big Alpina stamps on them and the most collosal calipers I've seen. Shame really.
  10. I hate ebay tossers that do this. Ebay should force them to give you your listing fee's back or let you kick them in the balls square go else they suspend their ebay account. You should buy it cortinadave, it'd be a shame to see it squished.
  11. mk7 Horsey Horseless http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nelco-Solocar-Electric-Invalid-Carriage-3-Wheeler-1948-/180649040678?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a0f859b26
  12. Next up for me was a rusty Silvia 1.8 Turbo. Another 1984 car (a fine year) although this one hadn't faired all that well as looked like someone had turned it into the ultim8 gr8 for driftin drift slag. In actual fact I had no knowledge of drifting in 1996 and it was just a genuine 100% organic knackered old banger. I think the s12 Silvia was the last one to be official sold in the UK so getting a more modern one for a replacement is going to be too hard to find or too expensive so I guess I need to plump for a Nissan 200sx. You still see the odd one of these for decent money that hasn't had it's diff welded solid or it's carpet and seats torn out.
  13. I passed my test in 1993 so I'd be in an Audi 100. I've got a 2.0 170bhp dizzler now so I'd probably be the 115bhp 2.5 back then. My SD1's 27 years old so in 1993 that would probably get me quite an early P6. Probably a 2000 and not a v8 as my SD1's a 2600.
  14. That's shitty news b0ll0x. I hope it doesn't get weighed in after all that effort.
  15. On my way to work this morning I was think about all the knackered old shite boxes I used to rattle around in back in the my 20's and started wonder if I went through a Tom Hanks in BIG like transformation what I'd be getting these days. First car 1980 Ford Cortina 1.6L (14 years old) The Cortina was an old Ford so it's got to be a Mondeo. My Cortina was an early mk5 so rather than going for a late mk1 Mondeo I think I'll plump for an early mk2. I was going to go for a 1.6 Verona but that's the ultim8 povo spec Mondeo with the most miserable engine and the 1.6L wasn't the most misery based Cortina thanks to the 1.3 base, which clogged the slow lane of the 80's. The result of all of is this I think I can treat myself to a 1.8LX. Next up. 1984 Car Volvo 360GLS. (14 years old) This 360 really was hateful and cost 100 quid so I need to pick carefully here. I was going to go for a s40 but I don't think there's one yet awful enough to match my 360 so I need to plump for a late 440. It's also a hatch and I've seen the odd one for sale for £100-£200. I think it needs to be a 2 litre GLE as there's not a GLS and the 440 GLT runs the risk of being pleasant to drive. Next. 1984 Citroen BX 1.9 GT (13 years old) A bit of a tough one this as my BX was an early carb GT with the batshitmental interior and no current 13 year old Citroen can really match indicators as switches on the dash and a 1st gear that wouldn't engage if the passenger seat was forward. The XM is about mental enough and of the the right age but it's too big so I think I need to go for a Xantia. My BX was a GT so no turbodizzler for me so I recon I need to go for a 2litre Activa as at least it's a bit sporty and has that big ball thing in the middle full of porridge to try to stop body roll.
  16. i've been cocking around from 7.30 to 11 trying to filler and primer the 2 quarters of my bmw. It was just a grind off rust, kurust, little skim of filler but It must be on it's 9th slim of filler and after hours of sanding it all down from 180 to 3 billion grit sand paper it looks flat, feels flat then I put the primer on and BAM ! more ridges than a bag of mcoys crisps. AAARGH!. One arch is now done and the other is going to get 4 inches of filler primer once I buy a tin of it and heat it up in the microwave for 10 minutes or what ever you need to do to persuade it to come out the can.
  17. "Some Body Work (TLC) Required" This old cortina has seemingly been repaired with an offcut of carpet nailed on with some old roofing tacks.. It's got a years MOT as well. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270734036664&ih=017&category=29755&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1 This on the other hand is tidy . It's nice to see a plain old capri as I'd forgotten they looked so good not tarted up. Not crazy money either. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190522139856&ih=009&category=29755&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1
  18. I needed a back brake backing plate and handbrake shoe mounting kit for this e46 BMW I've got. Eurocarparts wanted £19.99 for the mounting kit but didn't do the back plate so I just got them both from the local main BMW dealer and was expecting a tiger bumming in the price department. It turns out mounting kit from was £12 and the back plate £12 and I didn't have to go up to Glasgow to get it or pay to have it delivered. Quite chuffed really as it now means i can put it all back together again.
  19. Non spazaspeed 156v6 mot'd until december and taxed til June for £425. I would. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260757054117&ih=016&category=9834&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1
  20. I've just had a shot of a Nissan a new Nissan 370Z, went sideways on the first corner, shat it, drove home at 40mph.
  21. I was listing an item on ebay and decided to put a reserve on it. For this pleasure they wanted to charge me £16 quid! When did they start up this latest scam. So £2.86 for the advert and an extra £16 to set a reserve. I didn't set one in the end as I would have feel liked I'd been tiger bummed.
  22. A manual v8 SD1 for £850 and he's willing to mot it for £950. It's annoyingly much tidier than mine. Damn. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150583906689&ih=005&category=29759&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1
  23. The colour of this vanden plas is fan-spazmatastical.
  24. Mmm, 5 pot diesel. Nom nom nom. I would especially as it's the slightly prettier and more practical sportswagon.
  25. Not really shite but I bought a 1999 BMW 316i (102bhp of raw powah) at the Auction last night. This is the first thing I've actually bought at an auction so hopefully it'll not end in a mushroom cloud of steam on the hard shoulder. It's quite a tidy thing though with less than 88k on it and full service history so fingers crossed.
