Little bit bigger than Matcbox Superfast. They're pretty rare for some reason - too expensive when new, short lifespan maybe. They were produced in conjunction with Vauxhall I believe hence the accuracy.

That resin Caddy is ace. I've started using Autodesk Inventor 3D at work and it's awesome. It wouldn't be too hard to produce a car on it once I become a bit more proficient.....

Here's one of the stars of my collection - the Vauxhall Firenza by Lone Star. I had been looking for one for years and they've become something of a mythical beast among diecast collectors, now commanding high prices. Every fair I went to I would try to find one and eventually chanced upon this example about 10 years ago. I think it was a fiver.

I'm always amused to see cars that shouldn;t have been sold as late as they are and the spots by others recently of an X-reg Maestro and '08 Rover 45 prompted me to start this thread. So what you got? I'll start the ball rolling with this K-reg Triumph 1300 that belongs to a chap I know:

I haven't seen the Regata yet but it's definitely on my list! Can't find a Tipo either.

We all like Lancias too don't we?!

Great photos by the way, spent ages looking through them.

Hi folks, long time no post!  I had a really fab day at FOTU, my first time at the event.  I'm sorry I didn't meet with all the shiters present but a fab day had by all and great to see those who I did have a yarn with. It seems I managed to hide all the crappy bits on my Sunny's bodywork pretty convincingly too  There were some awesome cars there and for me the mint 505, Tempra and trio of Stellars were real highlights along with Hirst's Quintet, a model of car I haven't touched since 1986.

It'll be ages before I properly sort out my photos, but I've just had a pleasant lunchtime playing "Where's Wuvvum".

Here he ponders the lack of chrome arches whilst AS old boys yarn on about the good old days.

Another big saloon catches his eye. AngryDicky can be seen in full power-dressing splendour.

    Ah, he's seen me.

Meanwhile, Hirst's Quintet was such a hit it actually had people praying to it. Quite a strong reaction, but justified.

Here's my rant: Superfluous signage and labelling really gets my goat for some reason. For example I was driving into a village which had those painted or coloured tarmac strips across the road to let you know you’re coming to a 30mph zone. Well for a start I don’t need the strips cos I can see the bloody great 30 sign on its fluorescent background. What annoyed me most though were the signs telling me there were rumble strips on the road. How dozy do you have to be to need all this information?Another thing that peeves me is “Serving Suggestionâ€Â. I have a salad cream bottle which has a photo of some salad cream on a tomato and some lettuce on the label. Why does it say “Serving Suggestionâ€Â? I know that’s not the only way you are allowed to use it and I know that the tomatoes and lettuce don’t come with it.Or the Mr Kipling buns where one is cut in half on a plate. “Serving Suggestionâ€Â. F**k me – I know they’re all going to be intact in the pack. Are there people out there that need this kind of guidance??

I know it's an old thread to resurrect but I've been sifting through a load of old postcards and photos recently. I used to pick up the cards cheaply at fairs though some of the better ones were a fair bit more and I've got loads with street scenes - I kind of got addicted at one stage!

Here's a few to whet the appetite:

Hull in the 1970s, Avenger, early 99, smart Wedge and a 610 Datsun coupe

Is it just coincidence that the photographer got thes two UK 1100s here??

The Lygon Arms in Broadway with 70s shite

And the same place a little earlier - fine British machinery

    Wow a K70

Lots of typical early 60s stuff. The number on the Mini is now on a Honda according to RAC...

HB Viva the most modern here I think

A lovely shot - the Sceptre expired in its 20th year

    Late 60s in Llandudno

    More to follow...

Excellent variety of fabulous cars here. Ed that Cortina estate is awesome, I need to get a Mk5 one day.

Here's my tat, more J-tin I'm afraid (with one stalwart British interloper!)

1967 Triumph 1300 FWD - which I've owned for nearly 16 years (the maroon Dolomite was mine for time too):

1968 Datsun 1000 (B10 Sunny) - original Nissan press car and from the first batch of Datsuns imported:

1974 Datsun 140J Violet - looks better than it drives

1984 Mazda 323 1.5 GT - a hoot to drive but coming out of daily service soon:

    1985 Nissan Sunny 1.3 GS (B11) - needs a new engine

1999 Toyota Starlet - picking it up on Saturday

Reanault 5. In 1972 there was nothing else like it really.

And we haven't had this yet have we? You know, thinking about it, it really has been the French who have gone out on a limb time and again and upped the bar on modern styling.

How cool is this then?! Hyundai Pony all the way from Korea arrived on my desk this morning! It comes in 3 colours and naturally I went for the shittiest

It's in the slightly odd scale of 1/38 but it comes in a nice Hyundai branded box and even has a pull back motor and opening doors!!!
