Every time I look at a Princess after not looking at one for a while, I think how monumentally BL fucked up. It's sooo cool & sooo different. Harris Mann really got it right with that design & it was brave of BL to put it into production.
Pity that in true BL fashion, sadly defeat was somehow snatched from the jaws of victory !
It should have been a runaway success & trounced the Cortina.

Hi, I am the owner of 309ARX
I can confirm that the car has always had this plate through its life.  It was originally a demonstrator model for a small BL dealership, delivered to them on 1st September 1975 (the couple who ran the dealership sold the car to me in 2003).
309ARX was their own private plate which they had kept since the 50s and they put that plate on this car when it was registered to them, so it was never given a conventional 'P Reg' suffix plate.  The car was the dealer demonstrator for all of 10 days, before the 18-22 series was rebranded as Princess and the Wolseley model was eliminated.  The couple chose to keep the car as their own from that point on.
    Cheers,
    Chris

Sadly we've had our first falling out due to me leaving the interior light on!

Got jump started by a neighbour but as I went to pull away.....

    Oh.
I didn't want to turn it off, so soldiered on with really heavy steering. Turned it off on the A127 and did a rolling bump start and all is well now. 🤦‍♀️

I've heard of tales of lost treasures and finds of gold in them there hills, but RDB 971H now that's like finding a golden goose.
Also looking at the open tabs this guy seems to suffer the exact opposite of Prince Andrew's sweat problem. I suppose he's got that going for him.

    Everyone will do that once.
Maybe twice, once while living at your olds, using a fragile old washing up bowl whose indented handles snap off under the weight of iron-filings laden 10/40 from a Mk2 Capri, then again a few years later using an old metal Castrol GTX tin, that someone may have forgotten to screw the cap back on, all over the 6 month laid driveway.
    My friends* eh?

I  was alive in the 60s and was constantly entranced by the Gerry Anderson vision of the coming century (as it then was). I'm almost totally disappointed and even bitter to see what's actually happened.  Just as an example, we've been in four showrooms today looking at Motability cars, because our Suzuki dealer is in Kendal and it's a bit of a schlep, so we thought we'd see what's available in Barrow.  A load of blobs, obviously, with tiny engines making nearly 200bhp (for about three and a half years...).  One thing I specifically asked about was a CD player.  No sir, you won't get one of those now, cars are set up for streaming.
Well fuck streaming, how old am I?  15?  NO, ffs, I'm 65 (in April) I've only just got the hang of CDs and I want to play them.  Progress, hey?
@Talbot hit her for everything she's got.  I had a very similar experience when my MR2 was murdered, except I was driving it at the time.  I now regret not just dialling 999 immediately and asking for police and ambulance, and getting her and her fella done for threatening behaviour at the very least.

I've just been to a funeral, a chap called Graham Barrett.
I'm fucked if I know who he was because I went to the right place, at the right time but on the wrong day. It's not really good form to walk out halfway through is it? So I had to meet the family, do the old friend from school bollocks and say what a nice service it had been. Bizarrely not one single mourner mentioned my total lack of foot wear.
    Back again tomorrow then...

I've fallen foul of this as well. I can't remember the exact situation but I got stung for late payment because I paid too early. I think possibly one of us paid while sitting in the queue to cross to make sure we didn't forget. It didn't register as being for that specific journey so it just swallowed the payment, then issued a fine.
I think I got it cancelled but it really was the usual case of technology is always right, even when it's been developed by people who can't operate shoelaces.

I’m pretty sure I can vouch that used to razz down the seafront in Southend, I was* an Essex boy racer in the early 90’s and this car with those alloys is very familiar.

My all time best was a very smug clean change closely followed by kicking the washing up bowl over with all the waste oil in. Idiot.
