the 1.9ctdi 150bhp
Had one. (at six years old) Ran it for a year. No faults encountered. Liked it. Then read afterwards about all the things that could have gone wrong haha

Scrappage scheme stalwart. My aunt had one on that basis. Until she recently crashed it into a bollard

Just had to abort a job to fit a towbar
Hey @Barry Cade, help me answer a pub argument. Mate says you can’t fit a towbar to a Focus ST (current shape). I say there’s no reason why not but I can’t find anything to confirm either way. Got any intel?

Motorcycle fans, were any bikes ever fitted with a 6 digit odo before digital displays came in?

Wheels suggest it’s the standard 1.8. Being six spokes instead of the five on the VVC. Though to be fair its done well to retain the original rims all these years.
How many fan speeds still work?

Apologies for thread hijack JJ - I’ve got that Brink detachable towbar on a 2016 facelift F31 and it’s never been quite right in that the reversing sensors aren’t disabled when a plug is in the electrical socket, so they go mental when a bike rack is in place. @Barry Cade what would you recommend? Previous car was a J11 Qashqai with a switch in the socket that disabled the sensors, but on the BMW there isn’t even a dashboard switch to turn them off (this car has rear sensors only) so I just have to put up with the audible torture when reversing!

Got it in one. Three cables in the mechanism and the one that has failed has chewed up the pulley which is directly turned by the motor. Much as I'd like to just get a fresh cable, it looks like a massive ballache and my patience is in short supply. So it's new regulator time.
Now, where do I get a replacement from? There's a very good reason why I don't want a secondhand one, and a new part needs to be a decent balance between cost and quality - open to suggestions

I thought the aerial was in the heated rear window element on these ?
Probably was from new, then stopped working properly after a few years leading to a conventional one being fitted. So likely there’s a second connector lying loose behind the radio unit.

Hey wassup crew, who wants to guess what comedy BINI fault presented itself last week, based on this photo and only this photo. @Aston Martin you can’t play 🤣😂

I hate those 'Citroen H' things
Yeah, there must be literally zero in the British isles that have the actual appearance of an authentic working French van. I’d love to be proven wrong.
Here’s another one seen today, this time capable of moving under its own steam. Owners made a cunt of the number plates though.

My sisters ex had or has a 190 Cosworth. I’m sure he said the injection system had gone to ratshit and he was looking at replacement kit, megasquirt or something like that. No doubt makes a massive difference over tired original components.

You're right.
I looked in the obvious place before, the underside of the boot lid and didn't find anything exciting.
But looking deeper into the boot, there it is, hiding on the rear panel.
But why would a manually operated boot lock need an electrical supply?
Could the lock mechanism also act as a switch that activates the boot light?
If it’s anything like the higher spec fiestas of the same age, there will be a tilt switch located where the bootlid travels through the biggest arc. Though on the fiesta this was a single wire switched earth.

Does it have a Mercury switch or similar which activates a luggage compartment lamp?
