  4. Well not the most exciting or epic collection thread - a giddy 8 miles return home and sadly no petrol station shot! Procured from @dome s tame Clio Fettler - viewed yesterday and collected this evening. Despite the quality of new iPhone pics are a bit pants and will get some better ones up tomorrow when detailed inspection complete! @dome many thanks for the intro and nice to meet you this evening! Seller kindly put back on stock springs as I wasn’t enjoying the lowered experience!! Main issue is the exhaust which has been fettled but loud - feels like being punched in the head w

  5. SATURDAY MORNING TV SHOW SUPERHERO CORGI VAN CAPERS Yes, I know these have had a feature or two before, but I had to get it out of my system. It took long enough and more than a couple of mis-purchases to get good enough examples... Oh look at those happy... etc First-up, 'SPIDER-VAN' wearing the earlier style of wheel. Next-up, 'SUPERVAN', wearing the later wheel and my preference in label. What, you ask? Well, the earlier decoration was 'SUPERMAN', but it had to have 'VAN', to match the 'SPIDERVAN' wording. Yes, the difference was dwelled-on a tad.

  6. FURTHER SATURDAY AFTERNOON CORGI TV CRIME-BUSTING CHARACTER VANS. They continued to sell the larger-scale Charlie's Angels van in enough quantity to resurrect it two decades later, alongside these two new releases to appeal the more 'mature' collector market Oh look at those smiling faces with interesting adornments. But look! Much more care to the detailing - and a number plate too Likewise at the rear. Lights picked-out perfectly, never seen before on Corgi Chevrolet vans; even though the A-TEAM really used a GMC Vandura and SCOOBY DOO a G-10 series Chevrolet

Hondarora as suspected has long gone, but do have the similar 'Police' Honda and rider. Well, two of them in fact, so rolled them out onto the GENUINE Matchbox 'Motor Cycle Trailer', being towed by a Citroen SM, no less With the panier and rider removed, its almost there - then realised they did two different castings! One with fixed front fork and Hondarora with hinge - all these ye

This year, when I took my Scomadi for an MOT I bought that little 50cc scooter (further up) and, erm, another Scomadi... If I'd had the choice at the time, my 200 would have been 'Atomic orange', it's defo the best colour they came in. This one is a 125 with a few extras (some of which might mysteriously find their way onto the 200) including an aftermarket exhaust, which won't fit the other one. The 'Adidas' decals will come off, but I've got some spare (plain) side panels in this colo

Looks to be the same overnight-stay bedroom suite, complete with THAT rug A mirror on one wall, perhaps to help get a different angle for the readers' wives Polaroid photo shoot action And a nicely recessed, trusty old tube television set, to catch up on Jim Rockford afterwards Wanted both of those Corgi vans since I was 10 years

Well turns out its a small world, it was for sale by a trader a few miles from my village, turns out I knew him and he was keen to make space as it is not his usual thing as was a PX against a posher newer v6 camry. Took it for a drive and everything works, its had the multi changer pulled out and an after market stereo, i'm not bothered about the CD player but a shame the factory look dash has been disturbed. Insides are very clean, although it needs a general clean, outside has a few giffer marks, but all in all good and drives without fault. So I am now the proud owner of a

Refitted all the door glass, window regulators and seals, front door mirrors too. Also the trim/rain channel that covers the seams on the roof. Really starting to look more like a car again. Also managed to chip it somehow,no idea how or when it happened but it's happened. I guess it's one of those things, still very annoying though. Windscreen next.

Mrs Spart bought me a set of H&R lowering springs for the Panda, they're one of the better makes out there, it may seem unlikely but there can be a huge difference between good and poor quality springs. I took the chance to give the front legs a coat of paint and fit new bump stops and dust boots too. It's only lowered it by 35mm, Pandas sit fairly high as standard so it doesn't look too 'barried', and the ride is better. I also bought a brand new grill, the one fitted in earlier pics is from a Select

I celebrated by putting £20 of Asda's finest in it and then driving about running a few errands and apart from the alternator belt being a bit noisy, it behaved perfectly. It's running superbly now that the fuel isn't 50% sand. However, it is a Princess so to redress the balance, the clutch master (slave?) cylinder started leaking. Looking at it, I cant understand why. It looks immaculate and totally

After yesterdays pain (literally with regard to my knuckles) today was a better day. First this went for a retest and is good to go for another 12 months Also today, another one went for test. The Boris MOT runs out at the end of November, so to give me a bit of time to repair any faults, in it went. MOT now runs out end of November next year! Will take that!

I hit it head on in a Fiat Uno...the car went under the tree because the whole roof was stoved in by the impact - the windscreen went and the A pillars were pushed flat onto the doors. I should be dead but I'm not because I had taken my seatbelt off before I came off the Motorway because it was so uncomfortable. I went down sideways onto the passenger seat in about the three seconds I had to brake and m

The green one (which I had feared may fail badly) scored a fail on a leaky exhaust and not being able to get an emissions reading! Which was an absolute result! Plan was to fit new exhaust and get the retest done today... of course the new exhaust arrives.... on Monday. FFS. Gives me two options, postpone the retest into next week (not ideal with work), or whip the known good exhaust (which I only fitted two weeks ago) onto the green one and then fit the new one to the yellow on

    The grumpy thread

Many garages are basically slightly more in depth fast fit centres now. It's whipping parts off and putting new ones on (with an air gun). Fault finding consists of plugging in a code reader and declaring a car dead if nothing shows on it and they can't see something obviously hanging off, snapped or smoking. The quicker they can turn cars around, the more cars they see to and the more rounded up hours they can charge on other cars. It soon adds up over a month. Over a year, it'd be several thousand to a busy garage. It's even starting to become a struggle to find garages to do fairly
