@Zelandeth the blower works, not sure about the heater as I have not run it long enough. Tomorrow I collect it and get to play with it properly so should know soon! After yesterdays pain (literally with regard to my knuckles) today was a better day. First this went for a retest and is good to go for another 12 months Also today, another one went for test. The Boris MOT runs out at the end of November, so to give me a bit of time to repair any faults, in it went. MOT now runs out end of November next year! Will take that!12 points

Well after 5 months the pug is up for sale. Fetched its replacement last night. Always said it be a van to replace it and I stuck to it! Not had any flashbacks yet so facing fears head on.11 points -
It appears that a Mitsubishi Flying Pug is actually a thing. From Wikipedia: 'Mitsubishi had originally planned to build 1000 examples. However, the bodywork was heavily criticised by the motoring press as being ugly and this variant was such a sales flop that only 139 were ever made (built from September 1997 to June 1998). Mitsubishi's rather ambitious sales literature for the Flying Pug indicated that the vehicle "sported the classic looks of a London taxi"' https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3644897632227759/11 points

Slowly but surely. We now have the first set of Northamptonshire arches! They were completed yesterday for the cowshed. The stacks of grey blocks inside the archways are there to hold up the frames for the wooden formers. The blocks, frames and formers will be stay in place for another week or so to let the lime mortar cure enough. The brickwork on the cowshed front wall will go up to the height of the bricks on the left hand side pillar. This will be the height of the roof eaves for the cowshed. The eaves on the main barn will be a bit higher. I made the wooden formers in two10 points -
Well not the most exciting or epic collection thread - a giddy 8 miles return home and sadly no petrol station shot! Procured from @dome s tame Clio Fettler - viewed yesterday and collected this evening. Despite the quality of new iPhone pics are a bit pants and will get some better ones up tomorrow when detailed inspection complete! @dome many thanks for the intro and nice to meet you this evening! Seller kindly put back on stock springs as I wasn’t enjoying the lowered experience!! Main issue is the exhaust which has been fettled but loud - feels like being punched in the head w8 points

Well turns out its a small world, it was for sale by a trader a few miles from my village, turns out I knew him and he was keen to make space as it is not his usual thing as was a PX against a posher newer v6 camry. Took it for a drive and everything works, its had the multi changer pulled out and an after market stereo, i'm not bothered about the CD player but a shame the factory look dash has been disturbed. Insides are very clean, although it needs a general clean, outside has a few giffer marks, but all in all good and drives without fault. So I am now the proud owner of a8 points -

I built a camper from a Hi-top Renault Traffic van many years ago and loved the vantage point when driving, but hated finding somewhere to park it each evening or in towns.. It wasn't the best 'car' to drive for fun and in practice it got barely used. I'd suggest that if you opt for a camper - then go for one that's compact. The VW combi carries humongous fashion tax but it's popular because it actually works well for parking and a sightseeing-style of driving. It's easy to pack stuff away and yet convenient to stop and make coffee and lunch. It's also narrow enough to pass other vehicles5 points

Egg sent me this rather excellent Norev brochure, which the helpful sticker tells us is from 1974. This one's larger than average and has staggered size pages so you can flick to the right section. Lots of fun to scan as it has to be done one page at a time. This is not the last time we'll be seeing the 911 on the cover5 points

Planning This was a good point to stop and consider what I wanted to put into the final build. Some of this was dictated by the powerful men at Doovla in order to apply for the hallowed Motor Caravan status on the V5. I also had a good think about what kind of finish I wanted. I started as others might do by actually going and looking at vans or scrolling through pages of conversions and seeing what was out there. Jings. It's quite mindblowing, and it can be a hard job walking the right line between hipster shonk made out of filthy pallets, and utterly soulless plastic prisons5 points

We got our garage roof replaced just in time. We opted to pay someone rather than DIY since we needed it done quickly and well. Would have likely taken us at least a whole day, it took them 4 hours and the weather was bright and sunny for the entire job. Fifteen year guarantee on it so hopefully we won't have to worry about it for at least that long. They removed the bad beams, replaced and reinforced them, redid the pointing and reseated the capping tiles properly in addition to fitting a whole flat roof. This was way more work than we could have easily done ourselves, going the paying-s5 points -
Roofing and Lighting I had to decide whether or not I wanted a popup roof. I can see the attraction (ventilation in summer, extra headroom, potentially an extra bed). After seeing a few in action and noticing how unwieldy they seemed when raised, I got a bit put off. I tend to park up in remote places that can get very stormy and I didn't want to be lying awake worrying about the top of the van ending up in the sea. I also viewed a few older vans with popups and couldn't believe the damp smell on some of them, there's obviously a bit of maintenance required there (I'm getting lazy,5 points

Weather: sub-optimal. Outlook: bleak. Nemesis: already clutching a bulging diecast carrier bag. Motivation: And yet... Tatday is Tatday. So here we are, for what's looking increasingly likely to be the last time this year, sadly. Go get 'em, tiger. A quick scuffle through the boxes revealed that the buses that were there last week, weren't there now. Yup, it seems that Nutts Corner Market is (was) back on, and some lad bought the whole lot on Sunday. Bugger. But, there were some new OOC and other similar vehicles..4 points

Every two years I make the Christmas trip home from where I live now in Essex to the famille home in South Yorkshire, taking in Lands End and John O'Groats on the way (man maths).
