  1. Past hour
  2. They get a bit tatty but the amazing thing with this one is that it’s only done 25,000 miles in the last 25 years . They’ve usually got 4/500k+ on them . This ones only got 124k on it.
  3. Totally agree with this - 49 year old here who spent 30 years working in radio and tv. No idea what to do next, and no idea who'd have me..!
  4. I had one exactly like this in 2001 - possibly my favourite car ever and I wish I'd never sold it. The engine sounds (and looks) amazing.
  5. I see these about quite regularly, can't be many still in regular service.
  6. You jest but our office still has a couple of pogweasled 08 reg Combos (Corsa C shape). They dragged them off the scrap pile during covid when we needed more vans (as we weren't allowed to share) but for some reason these two stayed.
  7. Id cut that aux belt when you attempt a start. Its almost a guarantee that the water pump is seized.
  8. I don't think that's quite right. He had devised methods of measuring speed over distance to help him in rallying, were keeping to certain average speeds was necessary, but the Gatsometer as we know it was invented when he was stopped for speeding by a policeman with a stopwatch who was measuing speed between two fixed points 100m apart. Gatso went back and measured the distance and found it was only 87m, and therefore he got out of the fine. He invented the Gatso as a way of accurately measuring speed/distance to prevent people from being spuriously fined when they hadn't actually been speeding, but it was designed specifically for the police to use for the sole purpose of measuring speed.
  9. It's still safe around here, at least as long as the battle next door is still not decided in that way. And even if worst case possible happens, a flight out is still pretty cheap and trains run mostly on time.
  10. Well well well, looks like Majorette's dropping a Mk2 Escort into the range soon. Be interesting to compare it with the recent Hot Wheels release (assuming someone here can find one!)
  11. Thanks 2Flags - appreciate it. I'm trying to start my own development company (property development) - been working for others for 20 years and thought...........why don't I do it for myself?...................but it's taking a v v long time to put the legals together. Perhaps too long. I've found myself (reluctantly) applying for jobs too - i simply can't last a year earning nothing. In the meantime I'm trying to work on the lotus - she definitely helps take the stresses away (by creating new ones!!) and allows me to step back. I'm a firm believer in things happening for a reason. I've wanted my own development business for years but things have conspired to stop that (not least, money) but I've thought..........if you don't try now it'll be too late...........and there are opportunities right now; we're going through the greatest transfer of property wealth the world has ever seen as the silent generation and baby boomer generation start to pass away.............as property transfers, the inheritors don't always want to continue (with the businesses handed down or the property associated with those businesses - the types of sites I'm targetting) so there are opportunities. Enough on that however; tend to bore people rigid when I get going!
  12. Today
  13. Looks interesting. Was quite fancying a bit of a tour round the Balkans until Vlad the Shithead started his campaign for the 'Biggest Tosser in the World' award
  14. Interesting headlamp configuration, you know when you have been flashed by a Gatso
  15. The irony being that Gatsonides invented the speed camera to encourage faster driving. As a racer he wanted to measure his speed so he could improve it, so its role as a speeding deterrent is the exact opposite of its original purpose. He apparently often was caught speeding by his own invention and wasn't embarrassed because in his own words "I love speeding".
  16. Chodspeed good sir!
  17. ^^^ would be embarrassing if caught by one of his speed cameras!
  18. Yes. Yes it is. So it's collecshun day. Still some hours to kill before leaving, so I'm still working. But let's go trough the checklist: Breakfast: coffee and cigarettes Poo count: let's not go there. Lunch: in an hour or so. Weather: nice British weather we're having, a storm was here last night and more rain and heavy winds are expected. Distance to car: google maps says 127 kilometers by car. Mode of transport: multiple. Destination: Buzău.
