  2. I have another week (allegedly) of enjoying Dennis Darts / ALX200'S or MANs on my local services before these (suitably branded) Yutongs take over after the bank holidays. Stagecoach have bought 23 of these battery buses, apparently full delivery from China has been delayed due to the problems in the gulf, as some have been here a bit. This is 73001.
  3. God that looks shite. I've never scrapped a car due to a wing mirror cover before, but there is always a first time. Wish I'd left it alone.
  4. My rear 215s are old, have not worked out the date yet but perhaps older than your 2008s. I've considered doing 215/45s but there's fewer options and a little more expensive than 205s. I live quite close to Longstone and apparently the owner sometimes comes to the local Lotus meets, but I've not seen him yet. While I've seen him try to convince people the Pirellis on the Excel forum I'd be interested in getting a direct view. And if he does mate's rates! I know some of the chaps on LotusExcel.net have experimented with different sizes, one might be running 205/60s which look a little odd. I think the cheapo 205s that were quickly fitted to mine are Accellera Phis.. I'll take a couple of photos later.

Very nice! I do remember these when they were new. VW much better answer to the Capri. Always wondered why Ford never developed a follow on model.
  6. Talking of MINIs and details, I had a bunch of Minichamps MINIs out today as my purge continues. These were sitting in a cabinet out of their boxes. In fact the boxes had gone missing. However in the box room were some old Minichamps boxes. After a quick bit of lighter fluid work the labels were removed from boxes making them generic boxes. SO now 6 old unboxed cars turn into 6 boxed cars. First up is a trio of 2001 MINI Ones. Right Hand Drive has fuel cap on right. Left Hand Drive has fuel cap on left. Another RHD in Silver. These were dealer models originally. All have opening bonnets. MINI One with Aero Kit with front spots, cross spoke split rims... all white rear lenses... and red and black Chilli Pack seats. 2002 Cooper S This has the Chrono Pack on the dash. Intercooler under the bonnet. Finally a facelift 2004 Cooper Cabrio. This has the later bumpers and projector headlamps with the washer upgrade. This also has the chrono pack dash with the two clocks on the steering column. You can also make out the auto air-con controls and CD player.
  7. That will be the one. Obviously an ex Stagecoach bus from the plate...One which I quite possibly even travelled on, I know we had a few P---XCN examples in Aberdeen at some point. Sadly don't seem to have ever managed to snap one of that lot. This would be the closest. I'm pretty sure that I must have a bunch of photos hiding somewhere on this computer as I'm pretty bloody sure that I took more than one photo of a PS while I was still up in Aberdeen. Still irked that despite them being bloody everywhere at the time that a PS is one of the bread and butter buses which eluded my attempts to drive.

  9. Downgrading the cam chain to a weedy simplex effort you would be dubious about running on your bicycle.
  10. sleet here earlier and its well above freezing
  11. Sounds like this one: P133 XCN, owned by Commercial Transport Training from Leighton Buzzard way and still going strong if rather scruffy now.
  12. One of our local operators has two for school services. L800ACL was originally P132XCN and one of the ex Stagecoach Cumbria K---DAO batch (the next number is preserved - I should know the reg off by heart as it goes past my house most days).
  13. Better than a Ford Galaxy or similar if youโ€™ve got lots of kids.
  14. KTF 999 Last taxed 1980. Last logbook issue was in 2019. Maybe it's going to live again.

    Bus Shite

We have these ex London General Tridents here in Southampton still in London red They are supposed to be stopgaps before new buses arrive following Bluestars takeover of the First Bus routes last year. We've had them about six months now and I thought we'd have them a little while as they've had to had to have proper blinds made up. They are actually the first buses we've had with physical blinds rather than dot matrix for many years. Anyway I was on delivery yesterday and I saw one go past the end of the road in full Bluestar livery. Couldn't get a picture but I used the excellent Bluestar live tracker to find out that it was DOE31. So I punched these off the internet. So it's unlikely to be just a stopgap now is it? And to be fair the general public won't look at it and think it's a 15 year old bus, it does look quite smart. But unusually it has kept it's London General DOE fleet number. Bluestar and the previous Solent Blue Line have never had anything with prefix letters before and I'd have thought if they were going to keep them they would have given them new numbers but obviously not. Also whilst scouring the internet I found this recent picture of it in Salisbury. So it obviously did a bit of time there before it came to us. They are both part of Go South Coast,as are Southern Vectis and More Bus in Bournemouth and Poole and we get buses from those three fleets on loan here quite regularly. I'm not sure how many of these Tridents we have, the highest I've seen is DOE38 but we don't have that many, there are lots of gaps. I saw it again this morning so whilst having a bit of a break near the end of my delivery I thought I'd see if I could find it on the bus tracker. I didn't but I found this. Okay, a brand new bus. I hadn't seen any of those either. I'd heard rumours we were getting some for a long time but I thought they were just rumours. Furthermore I could see on the tracker it was heading for Shirley so I was ready for it. Looks like a fairly standard Enviro 400 but it did have an advert on the back inviting us to try their comfortable seats so I shall have to keep an eye out.
  18. Sister TUH14 ran for Booth and Fisher nr Sheffield. That would definitely result in divorce if I buy it....
  19. It would depend on a few things, but this is likely to be parked up somewhere near by. They'll give it 2 weeks before moving it on as they want to see if there is a tracker on it. Happened to a bloke I know with his Audi. He found it parked up. So maybe worth putting it out there and asking people to keep an eye out?
  20. Might be a bit dumpergeeky but I think that's a Thwaites Orion? I have one in the yard! ๐Ÿ˜‚
