These bloody spambots are attacking forums everywhere. What we've done on BX Club and French Car Forum is to apply a mod called Textual Confirmation to the registration process, anyone registering must answer a question to prove they are not a spambot (i.e. a question we think a human can answer, not a spambot)It's quite easy to apply, and is free at http://bbantispam.com/On BX Club we ask questions like "What colour is LHM fluid" which tends to baffle the bots. Forum then sends me an email like the below. I'm getting about 20 a day at the moment, which is great, as it's 20 spambots thwarted!"User 'CosmosM' has failed to answer the Textual Confirmation question correctly. It might be a spambot, therefore the registration is rejected.--User: CosmosME-mail domain: @pmrmail.comWebsite: http://somespamshitbloodywebsite.bizSignature:All you need is Love...-Data provided by the server:REMOTE_ADDR=69.46.28.225HTTP_USER_AGENT=Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; FunWebProducts; MRA 4.6 (build 01425); .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)ENCODING=iso-8859-1"If you want to apply mods like this, give us a shout over at bxclub.co.uk/forum. I think that might baffle more than the bots!

It might be a spambot, therefore the registration is rejected. On the other hand, it could be an ignorant human who you need to take pity on & allow to pass through.
