58classiccars
Hi all, if you could weld two cars together, what would you make.I fancy a classic 315 front welded to a capri mk 1 back, or a mk 1 A40 front with a 105e back. What would you do ?.

chaseracer
At the 2CV world meeting in Scotland a year or three back, one of the Dutch traders plied his wares from a Merc 560SEL, converted to two-door using SEC rear wings with the business end of a Renault Extra/Express welded on top Looked surprisingly good. I have a photo... somewhere...

Jazzy Jeff
I'd like to win the lottery and set up a showroom specialising in importing those Maestego things and Second Hand Huandu Ital's. It could be a model enterprise towards forging lasting Sino-Anglo industrial relations. We sell you the rights to manufacture BL tat, and we buy it back as a penance for such a crime. TheScrapman
Skoda Estelle front and Mk3 escort rear. No engine! You silly, silly man.Maybe not so silly. Estelle was originally designed to take a front engine. I am suprised no-one ever used the front clip on anything else. 4 bolts and it's out, a lovely low crossmember to clear a sump. Double wishbone with no geometry issues to worry about (i.e. it all bolts to the crossmember including the rack iirc). Also had camber adjustment and 4-pot calipers as standard. Spottedlaurel
Capri Mk1 front and Jag XJ6 rear, with an extra axle to make it a six-wheeler, like that crazy one in Street Machine years ago? Seamless…I don’t have any examples to hand, but there’s quite a thing in Japan for swapping front ends. I think it comes from the ability to chop and change between the fronts and backs of the 180SX and Silvia range (creating SilEighty or Onevia, depending which base model is used). Sure I’ve seen a 240/260Z front on something newer, and a Laurel hardtop made to look like an old Skyline.
michiel
I think I'd just swap the front and rear ends of a Zundapp Janus. Or maybe glue the front of a new Rolls onto the rears of two Isettas, side by side.

Spottedlaurel
I think I'd just swap the front and rear ends of a Zundapp Janus. We can imagine for ourselves the results of this in just over a week’s time! Thinking about it though, wasn’t the Janus just two front ends welded together anyway? I could chop the middle out of my Camry and create much the same result with front and rear facing seats. Marty
Monstro MPV unveiled to an unsuspecting public. http://www.austin-rover.co.uk/index.htm?news200805f.htm Is it me, or does the roof line look higher than the original. Looks very similar to something my mate Daz knocked up using the rear windows from one van and the rest of another
