retrogeezer
Gorgeous...I left a card but no contact. Anyone can get a driving licence these days... For sale... This was uber clean - 35,000 miles on the clock.. Don't know what this bike was - very noisy, MZ? Haven't checked the reg number. Really like these Escort Equipe's - preferred the blue version.. Not that old, but shite: Lovely 1987 bikeshite: This 323 estate was just round the corner from me...quite tidy too: Lovely Viva...
pogweasel
That Viva is SPAFFING LOVELY. Such a great shape on those HB's, plus scene-tax-exempt... if I could find a decent one within a sensible distance I'd be on it like a shot. The Escort Equipe was quite nice for a run-out, though I agree the blue was betterer. I recall these outselling the "new" Mk5 in quite large numbers around here back in '90/'91 time. Were they HCS or CVH? A lass across the road had one that sounded particularly like a bag of spanners being jangled in a bucket, which indicated HCS... but confusingly my brother in law had a blue equipe with a 1600CVH. Though of course this may not have been original fitment. I'll see if I can dig out some archive pics of it, quite a tidy machine and nicely modified. wuvvum
Lovely 1987 bikeshite: Feck that is clean! You just don't see sportsbikes that age any more, at least not standard ones - they've all been turned into streetfighters or had ill-fitting aftermarket fairings fitted. That one's just as Yamaha intended - bootiful.
retrogeezer
Were they HCS or CVH?Well, I was 99% certain they were 1300 HCS engines...which I thought was strange at the time but wasn't it because it was a 'lean burn' engine or something?? A 1600 CVH would have been better. There was also a 1600 Sport Mk4 Escort IIRC? Cheaper insurance than the 3i of course. Carbed CVH with a rear spoiler and wheel trims - not alloys. mk2_craig
I think there was, very rare though. Would have been a typical Ford special edition like so many of those I vaguely remember from the late 1980s. Someone somewhere will have a list of them - considering the production runs were only a couple thou they seemed to have produced an enormous quantity of sales brochures for them... see Ebay for eternal optimists asking £4.99 for, say, an Orion Biscayne 2-side leaflet. retrogeezer
update 27.5.08: Another tidy Fiesta Mk3: Tatty Polo: That weird green Mondeo finally snapped - I'm pretty sure there is an Si version around too: Very nice Mini: And finally, after the FZR above, I saw this gorgeous VF500, low miles and original I think... r.welfare
That Polo looks pretty straight to me! Funny how there are still a lot of decent breadvans still about - must be Wolfsburg rather than Spanish-built?
Split_Pin
That Mondeo is the pick for me.I was admiring an early Ghia Model K255 DMS that parked at my local train station every day. It was in that wierd metallic pink colour that seemed to be exclusive to early high-trim Mondeos.Alas it was in such shite condition that it is no more
