Ross_K
There's a thread on Retro Rides about that very subject.
MrRegieRitmo
PM the nice Mr Bickle. If he wants something, he'll find a way to bring it home one way or another! Distance no object.
r.welfare
A US-spec 17 Gordini (as I believe they were all badged over there) would be a cracking period piece. Did they sell them there post '75? If so, I'd wager the car will hardly move under the weight of emissions equipment and 5mph bumpers
mouseflakes
Yup - those US bumpers on the 17 are completely arse. Don't bother!
RENOMAD
Guys,,its a 1973 car so it doesn't have those bumpers. Its a peach. Will try to get pics up.

r.welfare
Ahhh...so it has massive over-riders to satisfy the interim laws - plus weird headrests on the seats. One assumes that the "tombstone" TS seats that we got here didn't cut the mustard with the US DoT.Looks bloody fantastic though, what a wonderful steering wheel. nigel bickle
Yup -happy to help. My Fiat 124 estate has just landed from Melbourne -(sorry, my son took the pics -and completely mangled the camera/memeory card- still trying to sort!).As expected- totally rust free -although the paint job looks like it was applied by a myopic half sized one legged leprechaun. Earl Scheib -eat your heart out.Bellett here next month -but I doubt I'll be shipping from Oz for a while -currency fluctuations and the fuel costs means its dearer all round right now.However- US does look more favourable right now....If you need help -happy to fill in the details and supply the shipper I use. No one seems to have beaten their pricing ,I dont pay till its landed and confirmed undamaged (most want some/all up front) and they do exactly as stated -when stated. Good enough recommendation?Might sell my 17 -if the price is high enough.....
