Hello from a shite newbie

Hello,I have been browsing this forum with interest for a few weeks and have decided to join on account of my interest in shite motors. I have really enjoyed browsing the forum and seeing pictures of old cars, particularly those of a long-dead and decaying nature (art?). I particularly like models that have been almost completely forgotten, but are admired on this Site!I'll admit I'm not much of a photographer, but I have always loved spotting shite since I was wee and my earliest memories of such are spotting (when 4-odd years old on my walk to the shops with my mum!!) are of a decrepit DS rotting in a drive and a long-abandoned Blue Simca 1100 with a flat tyre. Hats off to those Members who have photographed some excellent cars - I have spent hours admiring them!Anyway, I have a few pictures to offer that I have collected over the recent few years, and hope to scan one or two photos from the 80's and 90's in due course. My parents thought their 10-year old son was mad when asking them to take his pic next to a clapped-out Renault 12!I also have a rather large collection of Shite in minature, similar models of which will have appeared in a recent Thread on here. I'll post some pics of my more unusual models when I get a chance :) Anyway here are my humble offerings for now :oops:http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... 761CAN.jpgLovely Sierrra 2.8 at Glenashdale in Arran in 2004. Remember this on the road on my 2000/1 hols there, with wierd high back suspension, last on the road Feb 2002, but now sadly departed. I have a photo too of the ex-West Lothian Council Sherpa that still resides next to it.http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... 082006.jpgViva HA strangely abandoned outside Scotston bus Dept, Glasgowhttp://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... 082005.jpgRatty Minor keeps the HA companyhttp://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... entley.jpgShabby, filler-laden Silver Cloud in Menorca, taken by my parents. I alway remind them of their shite-spotting duties when they are on holiday, but they freely admit they havent quite got the knack of it yet...http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... 082005.jpgRotten Riley keeps the Minor and Viva company. Photo doesnt show it but it has shite graphics on the side advertising some dance-troupe or other.Anyway, I hope you approve of the above for now :P

Welcome Iain, old shite doesn't seem to last long in Scottish cities, at least not if Edinburgh was anything to go by, hope that Viva and the booted Mini thing have a brighter future awaiting them.

Welcome IainL and thanks for the pics. Is that a Scammell in the background of the Viva HA pic? Shite of a commercial nature is appreciated here too!I've also been into shite from an early age although I only discovered the proper termiology (shite, tat etc.) recently!

And the Arran Sherpa. Its been here since at least 2000 ans its tax disc expired Feb 99. This was taken in 2006, can you spot the little legacy the aforementioned Sierra has left after departing in 2004/5??

That AEC monster is well older than V-suffix, must have been de-mobbed in 1979. (DVLA website reckons year of manufacture 1952)Wonder if it qualifies for free road tax to offset the awful fuel bills?

I think it looks pretty sinister - Glasgow's version of the 'Duel' truck lol
