G,day rust diggers..featured now is Horopito Motors jus up the road from me.Original owner refused to crush anything so now its an open air rust museum.The famous NZ movie 'Smash Palace' starring Bruno Lawrence was filmed here.

theres at least 4000 cars.Anyone coming to NZ should visit..its in National Park near Mt Ruapehu our local volcano n ski fields.

in the giant ol shed nxt door is where the car club guys keep there excess collection..usually about 80.. they they had a clear out recently..the Vivas all went ..the DKW n the Skodas..but theyre constantly adding..today was an early Victor slightly crumbly but coool..

so u get the idea about how NZ is very ol car friendly.Our local pop. is only 40000 and we ve got heapsa old bangers..and im spotting minty 80s stuff all the time.

Been past there many times but I have never been in, as Horopito consists entirely of 1 scrappy and maybe a house or two ! But I could spend hours just wandering. I have heard the new owners cleaned it up a bit but they were aware of what they had so left the "interesting" stuff alone. Must stop in on my next trip to Wanganui.
