Just a quick one, hopefully some one can help....Planning to give Mrs's Pug206 a bit of a clean up this weekend, wheels off and all that, can someone tell me, once I've cleaned the alloys up, can I put ordinary car wax polish (autoglym/turtlewax etc) on them, make them easier to keep clean, and make 'em shinier? Had some conflicting advice.....

When I clean my car properly I go through all that process with the wheels & use car polish afterwards - it really does make a difference. The polish will make them easier to clean in the shorter term certainly, but as for protecting against brake dust, etc, I think it will have little effect.Whats the conflicting advice you've had?

Cheers!!I thought it would be ok, but someone said that because of the heat involved, polish wasn't a good idea, another said not to use standard polish, only stuff recommended for metallic paint coz of the laquer.I thought it was bollox at the time, but you know how it is; if I bugger up "Pugsley"'s wheels, she'll be using my testes for earrings.(mind you it wasn't me who kerbed the bastards....)
