HillmanImp
I have an almost constantly revolving variety of autoshite outside my house upsetting the neighbours. here is a selection: Singer Chamois (Hillman Imp) - Currently (well permanently) undergoing restoration. Well Keep finding easier things to do first (see the 205 below), but it is getting there. Hopefully be able to drive it before i draw my pension. Shitey Xantia - I loved this car, was fast, handled great. Predictably the suspension went so it had to go. However for the money i have spent repairing the Arsetra that replaced it i should have got it repaired. 205 1.6 GTi, sort of on the road. Well it goes...like stink. Great things about these is they are impossible to steer when going round corners slow as they have now PS. However if you go round the corner like a bat out of hell.... Have also had an array of other vehicles on the drive such as a Land Rover 101 ex Army Ambulance, a 1977 Toyota Hi-Ace camper (i believe a mate has loaded photos of it on here) and a wonderful Rover 414 saloon and Pug 309. Will dig out photos of what i can. There is also my motorbike which is the right age for autoshite (1992), but is a bit class. Probably not for this forum but it just looks so damn cool. HillmanImp
Ey up binhoker. Have you got any photos of the Rover? I would especially want a photo of the twin exhaust and spoiler. What else would you want on a 414? Gave it a bit of class. I hope to god nobody ever thought I fitted the exhaust myself. Heard there was a picture of Mr Wendle on here and thought I had found it, however noticed that the plate on the back with the name of a dealer in Hull (cars, not drugs) was missing. Look at this twin that was found by some dude called DatsunCherry. Look, exactly the same. Here is the photo of Mr Wendle that Volksy had loaded. There is also a yellow one down the Astons in Bramley. Bloody 10 a penny these things. May as well have bought a Mondeo. Have got a photo of the Land Rover 101 on the drive of my old house on my work computer. Will drag that up next week. And Craig, I have to agree, the Imp is class, will be even better if I ever do any work on it and get it going..... *edit* I am planning on painting the imp with Rustoleum. Has anyone tried this? Would be keen to see how it went. http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html
HillmanImp
Found this beauty on the way to pub tonight in Leeds. Can probably say i have not seen one in flesh for a fair while. To be fair, i have not seen the photo till i came in and that is in lush condition. Did not appreciate it at the time. Wish it was a Monte Carlo though. HillmanImp
Yeah dude come round. 205 is round Eors house now. He is making loads of progress on it there. Imp is on drive at my new place awaiting garage the moment the bike is sold. Might do some work tomorrow morn, but as soon as the weather IMProves will give you a shout. Incidentally i found this yesterday on the way home. Same as mine, (64 Singer Chamois) but green. Owner was nowhere to be found. Went back about 8ish, but it was gone. Presume it had been taken by RAC, but parked on those lines it may have been towed. Bit rusty on front lip of bonnet but otherwise cool. Interior was MINT. HillmanImp
As promised a picture of my mates Land Rover 101. Is an absolute beast, with a rover 3.5v8 petrol engine. Tis the same chap that owns the Toyota Hi-ace above. This is it blending in beautifully with the surrounding enviroment at my old house. It was there for a couple of weeks whilst some work was done. As you can imagine the neighbours loved it. Well i assume that was what they were shouting, the V8 was pretty loud.
HillmanImp
Have been out on my pushbike today taking in the sun and taking pictures of cars. Land Rover and MG parked outside some flats. My guess they belong to the same person. Can you tell what it is yet? A lot easier from this angle. Not seen this kit before. This was at the same house. Nice Saab. Pug 104. Guy in Headingley runs a garage. Has a Morris Minor and Marina saloon, Mini and mucho coolio 240 Estate parked outside. Was something else in the garage, but did not want to disturb him as he was working. Will investigate further at a later date. However i am reliably informed this is his daily driver. Was out to meet up with a chap i know from the Imp Club forum as i wanted to look at his wheelarch as i am trying to rebuild mine. He took me out for a spin in it. First time i have been in a working Imp for some time. it was ACE. Must get mine put back together. Couple of Mk1 Escorts 2 doors down from each other. Car without a front looked like a Pontiac firebird at first glance, but not sure. I love 928's, and they are soooo cheap to buy. However i understand this is because they are soooo expensive to keep running. MG Magnette Scimitar and camper just a couple of doors down from me. Cool Audi. Couple of Tin Snails. At the same place i found this. Its a Lomax 233 (thanks to google). Is built on a 2CV apparently. http://www.pestridge.com/transport/lomax.html

reallyloud
Really liking that 104. The registration plate seems to be a struggle to read for my tired eyes, but did you catch what reg it is? It looks like an A reg. Which would have meant it being in the showroom at the same time as the recently launched 205. Fantastic find.

Fantastic find. The only 104 that I (and Baz) have seen in recent years was a late one like that too, also on an A-reg IIRC.
mk2_craig
I lived just around the corner from that car for a whole year and never once took it upon myself to get a photo of it or the various other tat that came and went from the premises... doh! (and likewise at the other garage on the lane opposite the Arndale Centre Somerfield) What your pic doesn't show however is that it is a K-REG which must make it one of the very earliest surviving Marina estates anywhere. garethj
Can you tell what it is yet?I'd have sworn this was a Mitsu FTO. Until this pic below I suppose the siezed wipers should have given the game away that it was an XJS

Fantastic find.It was an A reg. It was in great good nick too. Did they make the Samba's later, as my mate had a convertible one on a C? It may have been a relic as i have known of x reg Imps before and productions stopped on them in 76. I prefer the 106 to the Samba though. What your pic doesn't show however is that it is a K-REG which must make it one of the very earliest surviving Marina estates anywhere. To be fair i did not even notice that at the time. Jesus that is old. From the colour i would have thought it was late 70's. You forget that Marina's were around soooo long ago.The Jag ran out of tax at the beginning of the month. Hopefully will be back on th road soon, although with the current petrol prices, maybe not. Will be engulfed with that grass by the end of the summer.
