carlo
These marketing men are certainly determined to make sure we don't recognise the 'cars' they feature on ads, aren't they? This must be the third ad which features the Austin Apache/Tasmin/Kimberley, just so daft old English folk don't assosciate it with Austin/BL/Rover and think their cars are always breaking down and shite etc, etc. (No, hold on, that's why they went bust anyway, wasn't it?)Not forgetting the other contraptions appearing in other ads; a pile of shite which fell apart in a cul-de-sac recently on an insurance ad - looked very much like a Mitsubishi Colt with some sticky tape over the relevant bits. STUNO
Are we all sure that the procurer of cars/producer/director is NOT a shitemeister and having some fun ?
Dead_E23
Most likely the advert was shot in South Africa and the cars were whatever came to hand - lots of ads are shot there because the light is reliable and it saves time.
retrogeezer
I've never seen one of those, rather like it..
Simon M
It looks like what would result if an Austin 1100 mated with a Triumph 2000 - quite nice, though. Shame one had to get knackered for the LV ad.....I hope there are still a few around in SA.
55bloke
It's struck me on a few occasions that ad men consider older cars cool. I can't think what the ads are for (don't pay enough attention!!) but I've recently seen an old Merc estate, a Capri, an A35 (I think!) a Volvo estate, and one or two others featured as background detail in ads.
