The Passeys also owned a scrapyard near RAF Benson in the early 90's, of which I was a frequent visitor.

The one at Ewelme, yes I've been there but about 15 years ago. It was a good place to find early Mini parts - the place was littered with old 1100's, esarly Cortinas etc. There used to be a Saab specialist not far from Headley tyres but before the roundabout at Kingsclere. I bought a running 1970 Mini van from there in 1986 for 30 quid. :D I went to school at Crookham Court from 1983-85 which was directly opposite Greenham Common air base. We used to see all the weirdos camping. It seems so long ago now.Aah, The Nightingales, that's right. In particular Hamilton Court. The Court part of the name was about right as to most of it's residents, Court was a second home. Court as in Newbury Magistrates. The other rough arsed part of Newbury was a road/estate called Skyllings on the A4 near where Nias was. I hope that's got better as that was really grim.Oh, the grey 735i is sold, it went yesterday.

I just bought myself one of those too. It's a 1989 535 with all the 'M' bits 'n' pieces. It's done 250,000 miles but is in mint condition inside and out and drives like a new car. I picked it up for the bargain price of £400 - which is about what it costs me to fill it up! Lovely car but not sure how long I'm going to be able to afford to keep it.
