what i get up to with caravan

I have documentary evidence that Winston Churchill stayed in that caravan as the guest of Sidney and Doris Hoven and their daughter Bunty during the week they spent in Cleethorpes in July 1963. Apparently, at the time it was last seen it still sported the original foot-operated water pump that had so impressed the great man during his stay.It makes my blood boil! I can't believe that you would destroy such an important piece of this country's motoring/leisure-taking heritage.Still, at least you rid the world of that heap-o-shite Vauxhall, so it's not all bad.

Hey Bones - how come some races appear to allow cars with the winscreens still in place? Does it vary track to track or is it a subtle difference between formulas (was this nominally a 'non-contact' formula of some sort?). I assume it's simply not allowed for the old toughened screens?

they leave the screens in with the caravan races to stop bits of caravan hitting you in the head plus we wear full face crash helmets with visors to protect eyes from glass splinters but the banger drivers take out the glass and sometimes put wire mesh in place

I was wondering that, I've only ever seen one caravan banger race, back in about 1988 at Newton Abbot, it was all Triumph 2000's and MK1 Granada's.

I love going to the stock car racing, though I'm less keen on the bangers. Unfortunately my local track, along with the football pitch in the middle, is going to be a housing estate by the end of the decade. :( There is only one other track in Scotland and it's about 70 miles North of Aberdeen.
