In 1849 Aliens crashed in Fleetwood, the resultant radioactive mush of metal had lain buried irradiating the population and accounting for their inherent strangeness and George Formby’s fondness for the resort until it was discovered and excavated in 1989 and transported to France where skilled craftsmen were employed to whip and cajole unskilled pre revolutionary peasants into building the BX we have on offer today. Extensively fettled and brought back to life by El-Presedente last summer the car received many new parts, including a new clutch, LHM, new flexis, some new pipes, rear brakes overhauled and replaced in the way only El Presedente knows how, a set of four brand spanking new Firestone Eco tyres and some spit and polish. Surprisingly rust free (probably has something to do with the lack of sunshine roof. Rises quickly (apparently to do with the lack of PAS). Liberal application of Humber bilt brown to the chassis legs and so on will hopefully see it remain that way. Good points:Olympic Blue (apparently this is a good point)Nope, that’s about it, cant think of anything else….. Just sampling the tweedy upholstery does it for me, and looking at all the blanking plates are on the dash where switches in higher spec cars would live. Hours of fun can be spent imagining what goes where – alternatively I like to fit non working push buttons and pretend they are triggers for machine guns and take my vengeance on other road users, I am of course still taking the tablets and my Doctor says I m doing well.1700 non-turbo diesel excitement. – 50 – 55 mpgBosch fuel injection system (wink wink nudge nudge). £300 ono. r.welfare Posted January 31, 2008 Share Posted January 31, 2008 You can get 20ltr drums of new veg oil in CostCo for just under £14, so at 70p/ltr it's 40p less than dinoderv from the pump.I've not gone higher than a 50/50 mix, but the car does seem to run a little smoother. Lovely chipshop smell from the exhaust too.Only issues are the ideological (if more people use fresh veg oil for fuel, that means fewer crops will be used for food), and the physical - I have to decant the drum to a jerry can, 5 litres at a time, and then put it in the tank...
