3 Shows worth of snaps to show.....an embarassment of riches. The goodwood ones are a continuation of my previous snaps. As mentioned before I went on the friday. Here's a tiny selection of cars scattered in the car park, paddock and on display.

One of 2 coupes in the car park.

pre-xedos Mazda. Based on the 626 and as to be expected very well equiped for its age - electronically control air vents etc etc. I spoke to the owner and he believes its unique in the UK.

Posted Image

Nissan powered Scimitar. Very quick cars these.

Posted Image

Inside the event the always fascinating Cartier display area didn't disappoint.

Posted Image

This was here last year but it has left a huge impression on me thanks to the Matchbox model.

The finest Spanish car after the Seat Ronda...

Fine selection of 4 doors exotica.

Seemed to be a wicker seat theme going on.

And various cars scattered around the venue.

On sunday I took a leisurely drive over to Guildford to attend a new Guildford Classic car event - its a new show for the area, and while there were no surprises, it was a good start. They split the cars up into decades and types.

About 2 hours into the show, I got a text message from a friend who was taking his car to a classic car event at Heathrow. It was a quick scoot up the M25 so I decided to check it out.

A mate of mine used to cruise the mean streets of Reading with deafening selection of hard house and trance techno in his XR2. He had 3 over a 6 year period - all met sticky ends due to wreckless drug induced driving - that and rust have killed most I reckon.

Apparently this is just one of 2 1.8 Specials on the roads in the UK. I guess many of the cars got broken up by MG owners.....

Anyway that concludes my monster upload. My missus is abroad for a month hence the manic feverish car show activity. More next week no doubt.

Marvellous!

I get to one or two events, but I struggle with finding time editing them, uploading etc. With updates like this I can just sit back and let you do the hard work...

BTW, you going to Billing this year amongst your whirlwind of show activity? July 24/25th - I think I'll only be able to make Saturday.

Excellent pictures, Loud. You must have spent a fair bit of time up at the rally stage to see that many of the older cars.

If we'd have known about either of the other shows then Mrs Seth could have dropped in on her way home. The FX4 hearse is an odd one! GR8 for tight churchyards? I really like the BOAC CA.

Wowser what a bunch of fantastic pics, I really like the Marina Coupe pic, top notch stuff.

The lines in the Mini windscreen are indeed to demist it although I suspect they are 'wank' in use.

The wheels on that tasty Rover P5b are Jenson Interceptor wheels but then you already knew that. *EDIT-Pete just beat me to it!*

Ferrari Pinin...hmmmm

Bloody the Ferrari Pinin is a spot. I got a cars of the future book in about 82 (?) for christmas, and I loved the car alas it never went into production. Ferrari are probably looking back now thinking 'thank fuck for that', but I love it.

Who was showing, Ferrari or a private collector? I would have thought Ferrari might have wanted to keep them under their belt once they binned them so doubt they would have sold them off.

Slightly different and more shite oriented are the following snaps of yearly Vauxhall/Opel bash at the duck shit filled Billing Aqaudrome. The venue is basically a large boating lake surrounded by holiday mobile homes, camping facilities as well as ammenities such as pubs, narrow gauge kids trains, fairs and pretty much everything you'll need. I only went on the Saturday, I believe sunday was the main day - but the turn out of cars was excellent. Initially I was a bit miffed to shell out a tenner to get in, but I reckon there were at least 10 fields full of cars - majority were post 1990 stuff but a healthy scattering of older Opels and Vauxhalls. There was also an Autojumble - good selection of parts, toys and printed material available. I took snaps of about 350 different cars, heres a very small selection of the ones that did it for me.

Spoke to the owner of this one, he bought it new - really strange to see it on a y plate but they made them up until 1982 - i guess like the commer van, demand from british utility and service companys kept the demand up.

Excellent! I've been wanting to go to the Vauxhall rally for years ever since I had my Victor but never got round to it. One for next year's diary maybe.

BTW, I'm pretty sure the Lancia Ardea is an Aprilia :?

The Ardea is the smaller of the two and doesn't look quite so chunky.

EDIT: Yep, this one has the bigger engine - Ardea is less than a litre:

Date of Liability 01 08 2011

Excellent!

So much quality tin there, I like it all!

Do like those old FD Victors though, very nice styling on them.

Green Carlton wagon looks a nice proposition too.

Once had an extended "duel" down the A14 with that orange Kadett. Some naughty speeds were seen.

Nice pics, I have a few fom Billing which I may or may not bash up later. The Dukes of Hazzard display was a bit odd although they did have a Daisy Duke style chick sat on the back in very short shorts on Sunday so it's not all bad. The Victor police effort was suitably shitey as well, loads of plod and overspray. A very Autoshite police car.

Amazed what a big show it was though, massive variety of cars which was nice. Plus, it was a good weekend for selling models too :D

I think I liked everyone of those. Pretty sure the Opel Ascona GT (Mk2 Cavalier SRi-a-like) belongs to one of the big cheeses on Mk2Cav.com and is a bloody lovely car.

The black Chevette might be a limited edition Silhouette, though I think they had red stripes down the side.

Great to see so many classic Vauxhalls out there, ive found that Vauxhall turnouts at show can often be slim compared to Ford or BL stuff.

I love the MKI Astra in two tone grey/silver with the red stripes how right do those colours look on that car. Im guessing its a special edition an Astra Celebrity (a quick net search reveals it is)

Nice pics. I was camping with Club-Vox there all weekend and it was a great show.

I cant be arsed with the 100,000 Novas there that look like they've never seen rain, but there was an excellent turn out of pre-1980's Vauxhalls as usual. Girlfriend _L took about 200 photos of which at least half are of the oldies. She also commenced negotiations with the owner of a Bedford TK that was for sale  Thankfully that sale didnt complete!

At least one of the Novas there (a really nice metallic blue hatch) is used daily. It's been 'properly' modified as in no stupid bodykit and neons etc.

A very nice selection of old Vauxhall's there. Many thanks indeed for sharing them. I love the HC Vivas and Firenzas. I see the blue Viva estate is a loose 'relative' of my grandfather’s old Firenza - MXD 689K. That will have also been a former employees car. If it wasn't for his health taking a turn for the worst recently he would have loved to have been there chatting to the owners as he spent a lot of his working life around late 50's - early 80's Vauxhall's.

That light blue 'V' plate Viva is an extremely late example. Probably one of the very last I’d guess. It looks spotless. Shame about the alloys though. It should have the crome caps of either the gold or yellow ones below it.

I've just shown my father these pictures and he adores the earlier Viva's, the Cresta, the VX4/90, Ventora and the Victors.
