seth
Very nice to meet you Mr Loud! My photos from Knebworth ought to be appearing via RSM at some point and will post some/a link when they do but I think you've covered most of it anyway The little Honda Z at Bromley is a friend of a freinds. Has appeared in my spotted thread. Some amazing kit at that show!
trigger
Oh my, Some stunning cars there!! This i think is the 4 headlight grill you can buy from Jaymic, Think it's over £550 to buy though!
garycox
More please! Are those 'spotted' pics from Brighton? That DS lives in Hove I think, near where I work. I saw it being used at a festival thing in Hove Park too. I've also spotted the manky Volvo and lovely Carlton...Great shots from Bromley, I followed that Fiat coupe into the car park and parked next to it (not in the Skoda, I was the other side in a Transit van).Did you get any pics of the white Ventora in the one make bit? I took some but the memory card in my camera destroyed itself before I could transfer them...

reallyloud
Are those 'spotted' pics from Brighton?Thats exactly where they're from. I have to say the shite has decreased considerably since the last time I visited - almost every road had something of interest. Bristol was the same, I really have to look hard these days. A few more from Bromley: This beast was leaving just as I arrived. Must have spotted the Seat Leon display (yes there really was) and thought 'bugger this'. Just like Futuramics! Check this out! On a 'K' too. They did this shape up to 1992, so this is genuine, but one wonders who would have bought one - as this would have been an expensive car. Always a few Fords there. Some of the shots a bit over exposed, the sun was popping in and out all day and playing havoc with my ability to control the light. And a few more from Knebworth. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3631/3660901394_fbbd54a088_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3655/3660900972_c97a139756_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2450/3660897348_0754c53f4f_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3330/3660098185_161a259be1_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3301/3660891124_37d5c979d8_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3309/3660092445_40dff78872_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3624/3660890530_3b3ec32daf_o.jpg
keef
What's going on with the paintwork? Have they fitted "new" doors to match the "new" bonnet and oversprayed from the front wing? I thought it must be this one at first :- http://www.flickr.com/photos/allenthepo ... /pool-vdp/ Then realised it was this one :- http://www.reallyloud.co.uk/cars/vanden ... incess.jpg Cropped fins on an F plate. Was this one taken at Bromley as well?

reallyloud
Bletchley today. Not cheap to get in - tenner a pop but you get a season ticket which allows you to go in and ogle the fascinating historic computers and war time efforts - the 'pigeons in war' section was ace too. As a bonus they had a car display today, which mostly featured 2 door convertibles, minis, etc but I think we can agree that these made the day worth it: Initially I saw it on the side of the road with its bonnet up and a RAC guy fixing something. Thankfully it made it to the show, but didn't stay long. Familiar to RR and Orange Juice Chat forum members, first time I've seen it lowered and without the reflectors. 100% improvement. I'd love this. Then the rest: This was a capri - I couldn't get to photogrpah the front because the owners were sitting in front of it giggling and drinking Kia Ora. I think. reallyloud
Mash, as far as I know it was a meet at Bletchley Park, and all cars where privately owned by the public. As for the hearse, it probabily is a Granada - with a capri front end. This is the best image I could find - lurking behind the XR4i. Had me fooled. reallyloud
Slightly different element of cars here, with a selection of stuff at the Goodwood festival of speed. One day I'll go for the whole 3 days and try and capture everything going on - too much happening at the same time. One of the biggest problems was the traffic jams - 2 hours stuck in traffic and the vast volume of people, many who act as if they have never seen a car before. That asides, I present you with a small selection of my images. First off - a random ramble in the car park: First 5 door I've seen for a long long time. ...and this was worth seeking out. Virtually every 505 I've seen recently have been the Estate versions. Not entirely sure about this one. The owner had added some 'handling by lotus' badges on it which might suggest its a bit of a goer. On the Cartier stand. I have fond memories of my Matchbox version of this car. I think, with the Maserati Bora this rates as my favourite 70's supercar. One of several concept cars. This was designed in 1966. Peter Sellers mini A rebodied Jaguar E-type. Must try harder. I know nothing about Bugatti, but this was very elegant. Lots of track action, again due to time restrictions I missed most of it. De Tomaso powered DAF 55! I took a few in the paddock, but the volume of people and the tight parking arrangements made it a pointless spending too much time there. I waited until the end of the day by which most cars were covered up. The rally stages provided me with some welcome shade. Due to the fact it was right on top of the hill, most people didn't explore this - glad I did though. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2603/3687783181_ff0dd6850c_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3587/3687783521_cc65bd4a7a_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3599/3688585456_8be0fd4e99_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2639/3687783609_731be427e7_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2502/3688585724_b648e9ba6c_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2485/3687783883_e72674b907_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2560/3688585986_78bf1aee47_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2457/3688586202_75124ce48f_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3627/3688586066_a537dbf215_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2466/3687784261_4c772c4772_o.jpg Quite a few celebrities and well known faces there, particularly on the track. I missed most, but managed to capture Peter Fonda riding one handed on his chopper. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2569/3687782533_4fac5b21b9_o.jpg

pogweasel
Great pics Darren. I love the festival of speed, but I doubt I'll visit again soon - last time I went I pretty much killed a brand new clutch and my diff getting out of the place, it really is abhorrent for access/egress. Maybe one day I'll have suitable transport for the revival and make about a week of it.
garycox
I love those Tatras. Am I going mental or does it have a 'new font' plate though?! Looks a bit odd to me.I like that E type thing too actually... Reminds me of the AM Lagonda. Still not as good as an actual E Type though.

reallyloud
The Billing Toyota show has been well covered by Hirst, Mash and Spottedlaurel but in the interest of continuity and modesty, I'll bang up a few of my faves that day. I'll have to sort my one out for next years shows now I finally have a little spare income. Our very own X-Factor reject, Yorkshires own Hives tribute act, one man biege saloon saver. One the way back south, I got bored of the horrific queues on the M40 and decided to take a nosy around Silverstone as there was a lot of sports car traffic - Ferraris, Porsche etc. I saw this off the A43. A few more random spots I found on the memory card. This Rover was behind the Fiat/Citroen Dealer. No doubt part of the Scrapping Scheme 'incentive'. Today, was the renamed Adrian Flux classic show at Beaulieu - I think this was a fairly late change in venue for the Wroughton Classic car show - normally held in Wroughton near Swindon. Not sure why they changed it for beaulieu as its a fair distance away but good enough reason to pop down - despite the near £17 entrance fee for Beaulieu but to be fair this allows you up to 6 visit throughout the year, alas not including Autojumbles but they do have a few good events there so hopefully I'll make the most of those free visits. The show itself had a pretty ordinary but neat range of cars... The owner drove with quite a smug look on face, while his wife and kids looked decidedly sheepish and exited the car very quickly once he stopped. BL Maxi doors dontcha you know. The resto work on this was excellent, as the owners were keen to show by the use of upskirt mirrors. Owners simply sat back in deckchairs and stared at people. Quite a well known car, the owner had made little tweaks to the engine and interior, tastefully done and as I recall featured in a fairly recent magazine. Nice clean unmolested standard mini. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2497/3782461922_76a2349c97_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3568/3782462084_c57030e979_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3519/3782467850_ecbfebfe87_o.jpg Not nice, but glad to have seen it here just to show the kids that the 80's was mostly tacky and a bit OTT. I'd imagine this would have set the owner a few pennies to convert though back in the day. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2536/3781653563_c327558220_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2487/3781654177_ea38426874_o.jpg Have any of these not had a confederation flag painted on it? http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2434/3781654305_1cb4302093_o.jpg Wierd little thing, with Sierra back lights. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2468/3781654469_012993344b_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3494/3782462220_39b27d5b4a_o.jpg Would the Police have used these vans? I can't see too much use for this Austin other than transporting the confisicated narcotics and booze for the xmas party. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3550/3781653055_5b98631024_o.jpg Another ground up resto job. The civil serene atmosphere was occasionally broken by the sound of the blues and twos of 2 Vauxhall Police cars offering free rides to kids around the grounds. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2476/3781654901_a9396a4505_o.jpg There was also a powerful motorcycle on a cradle secured to a frame. You paid a tenner to rev the nuts off it and wheelie it in the air. The noise was most unwelcome - reminded me of a Craggy island ride. These were seen in the car park, not much pickings as today event typically attracted holiday makers as opposed to classic car seekers. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3529/3782467656_940f40f255_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2564/3782464734_4764bec3d8_o.jpg I took snaps of a few of the Beaulieu museum cars - quite an impressive but rarely updated selection of cars. The Top Gear area had a few cars of interest - I'm not familiar with these two at all. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2499/3782465690_ce91e8ee56_o.jpg Filled with water apparently, but according to the info did reasonable well in all TG tests conducted. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3570/3782465466_d39303c39d_o.jpg Whats the story behind the Ami? It has James May tags on it. As I continued to grumble about the entrance fee, the appearance of these made up for it. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3463/3781657113_9525039874_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2433/3782466994_6e2390cc95_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3599/3782466294_1902ca058b_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2550/3782466488_961138d5a7_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2574/3782466716_749b45b174_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2642/3781653681_e698c2c810_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3510/3781653795_3cdf38c092_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3581/3782463564_3023e838e4_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2571/3782467148_a2890bc203_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2509/3782462324_657c82a6ca_o.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2463/3781653193_92b48915da_o.jpg Thanks girls, see you next year!
