Found a few bits and pieces that I've not put on here, from the last few months.

 

The first lot are from Goodwood, the commercials are virtually part of the set up there.

More Italian cars! Bristol holds a once yearly meet in the centre of town for Italian cars - the majority of them are Ferraris and such like, but also featured these bevys of beauties.

 

Lancia were really well represented.

Another Ferrari engines Thema - the last one I saw was at the Bubblecar museum (should be in this thread somewhere) this one is a genuine UK import.

I don't think this plate is age related - these date from way back.

 

There were less older Fiats and Alfas, but these made up for it.

There was a lot more modern stuff - like VW's, Alfas and Fiat seem to attract owners clubs as soon as the car leaves the production lines - not a bad thing really as it ensures interest and a level of profile as the cars become older. In addition to this there were loads of Motorbikes, but as I haven't got a clue about them I chose not to photograph them - althought the Mod guys had a great selection of Vespas. A good free day out marred by the strangely autumnal weather and Bristols exhorborant car parking charges.

Some thoughts at this ungodly hour. The cats are scrapping outside and it's doing my head in. Wat cannot sleep :(

2. That 122S looks so toss on wires, just as I suspected it would.

Agreed on the picture quality!Dino coupe front end also resmbles Manta A (or vice versa). There again, in mid-60s there was a host of Italian-styled coupes that all had very similar looks.As the car I'd most want to own, I reckon it'd be that dark blue Fulvia on an 'H'. I remember some well-to-do chap in the village where I grew up having one.

I'm a big fan of the Fiat Dino too, the design is quite simple, uncluttered and very modern for its time. As well as opel and Isuzu, Aston Martin and Audi styled their coupes similarly too. I've seen the Strada, 131 and 128 at other shows in the past, suggesting these cars are either the best examples or really very rare these days.

Mine too- if it were a 2 door!

Why are 4 door cars looked down upon?
They aren't per se - at least, not by me - it's just that I find the proportions of the 2 door Mk 1 far more pleasing than those of the 4 door. Though, having said that, all the competition versions of the Cortina (and the Escort, of course) were 2-door, coz the shell is stiffer. So, everyone is going to want the 2 doors for that reason.

Certainly the 2 door Suds are more popular than the 4 doors.What a great day out! Brilliant pics as ever 8) I remember a few years ago getting a lift from Scunthorpe to Brooklands and back in a very well sorted Dino coupe. Absolutely awesome experience. :)

Would that by any chance be Mal Nicholson's. The maroon one with the foreign (Swiss?) number plates. If so, that does sound awesome, I remember a group of us waiting for him on the North bank of the Humber before an informal run out on the wolds, we could hear him ON the Humber Bridge 5 minutes before he got to us :shock::shock::shock:

Very close to buying one of these Lancers off ebay a few years back, as it was a low mileaged diesel the price went mental and I ended up with the PC/Spottedlaurel/Hirst Galant instead.

I stalked this Toyota - as you do - in the attempt to get a better shot. Regretably the owner decided to return home, and it wasn't exactly subtle to park outside their long driveway with a telephoto lens and a semi. Not only that but they also had a late yellow Marina up their driveway.

It's not listed as one of the benefits. I'll tell you how I do it and you can see if it's available to you.Above the picture there is an option for "all sizes". Click that and choose the size you want to link to. Under the picture there is some HTML code and a direct link to the picture. It tells you to use option 1 but that doesn't work on most forums so you have to use the direct link.

I basically use Flickr as storage for all my photos, really just to store them online for autoshite viewers - I've made them unavailable to flickr users basically. I'm in the middle of sorting out my website, hence the use of flickr. However I'll make the above Triumph image viewable so I'll add it to the group.

Superb Carina stalking! I would love one of these in the fleet even though it would be absolutely pointless for me to own. I have given up being rational though.

A strange one this:

 

The vehicle details for CDD 462B are:

 

Date of Liability 01 08 2009

Date of First Registration 13 10 1964

Year of Manufacture 1964

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1486CC

 

My best guess is that it was imported from another RHD market during 1964 and the actual date of manufacture was not recorded. Probably ballache to have the real year confirmed and non-dating mark assigned?

Those Lancer Wagon's have THE BEST TAIL LAMPS EVER. Like some designer looked at that naff angular red/grey/black wallpaper you could get in 1986 and said 'YES, that's the look!'Carina is a super spot, very lovely cars those. Mine went for export, as there was no hope of it making it through another MoT - riddled with rot (and mould!). Drove beautifully though.
