wuvvum
You remember, the ratty old thing I bought from London last summer. This one: It's been my intention to get it back on the road for months now, and I have done most of the work that I could see wanted doing for the MoT, but with the fact that it's full price tax and the fact that the heater doesn't work it's kept being pushed to the back of the queue. It's currently being used as a shed to store assorted crap, but it's taking up a space at my garage which is now required by the Renault 9 Turbo, so it's got to come back and sit on the car park. Rather than have it vandalised/towed by the Council I thought I'd offer it on here if anyone wants it. It still starts and drives fine (2127cc fuel injected engine with a 3-speed auto) but the brakes have gone a bit soft since it's been standing (still work OK though) and would probably need bleeding for a test, plus the front tyres are getting bald on their inside edges (tracking must be out). Otherwise, despite its appearance, it's rock solid, and it's only done 50-odd thousand miles. Ooh, and it's a seven seater too. It'll need a battery but otherwise should drive more or less anywhere. I'll take whatever the scrappy would give me for it - probably about £75 for a car this size? It'd be nice to see it go to a good home - it's a wonderful old machine in its own unique way. I've never owned another car which sends Transit drivers cowering out of its way in heavy traffic the way this one does.
Torsten2001
Obviously I want it, I crashed my milk float when I saw it but I have no means to get it sarff, you heading London way at any stage with an empty trailer? Do you know what it needs for the MOT?
Milford Cubicle
What an evil looking beast! For some reason watching 'Beetlejuice' as a child made me quite scared of these 245s. I would definitely shift out its way
Mr_Bo11ox
That would be a great car to brush-paint with hammerite.
wuvvum
you heading London way at any stage with an empty trailer? Do you know what it needs for the MOT?I will be at some stage, to pick up a Renner Twelve . Otherwise I'd quite happily drive the old crate back down to the Smoke (I know there's tax disc cameras all over the place but the car's never been transferred into my name as the muppet seller filled the log book in in pencil ) if I'm picking something up from there that will drive home. I'll keep you posted...MoT-wise, only obvious things are two front tyres, (presumably) tracking and bleeding the brakes. I've done everything else I could see that it'd fail on (number plate lights rewired, NSR door now opens from the outside, screen washers work and it's idling at a more sensible speed). Can't see it needing any welding at all - it's rock solid underneath.
