Mash
Can't find a previous post that's relevant so I started a new one If you have digital make sure you catch "The Fourth Protocol" on ITV4 Sunday 6th Jan at 9pm. Made in 1987, there are some good scenes of long dead motors. Here are some stills from IMCDB:
r.welfare
Tremendous film chock-full of tat. In the second photo you can just make out, two cars ahead of the horsebox, a gold Opel Rekord pretty much identical to the one I used to have
bigstraight6
That is indeed a good film, there's also some Soviet shite involved, a Zil limo fairly early on if I remember rightly...
mk2_craig
Superb!! That mk3 Transit looks entirely out of place
Timewaster
I had a poster of that Transit! The local ford dealer was giving them out at a local motor show. I would have been a deeply tragic 14 yearold with a carrier bag of pilfered brochures.I remember there was a lot of Ford promotion of the film at the time, they seemed to use it as a launchpad for the "new" aero Transit. So a mk3 Tranny probably did look out of place when the film was made.Never seen the film though. marinast
The Transit undergoes some nifty driving in the film....
55bloke
We just watched The Lady Killers on ITV. Wonderful old Ealing Comedy, and plenty of old motors to be seen. I find I devote as much attention to old car spotting as I do to following the plot when old films are on! Sad.
metrognome
Yeah its a good movie and well worth watching, plenty of 70/80s tat on show but all the new stuff was Henrys finest. Pierce Brosnans baddie drives a shiny xr3i and a bit of bikeshite in the shape of a BMW K100. Look closely at That Trans***....it was the only one I ever saw with headlamp washers.
