Little bastards. Its bad enough when any motor gets nicked, but particularly horrible when its something that is quite obviously someone's pride & joy & has had a fortune spent on it.Fingers crossed that, due to it being so distinctive, it won't be long till its returned to its owner.

Just spoken to Ben, turns out Ben wasn't really looking to sell the car, he just put it on ebay with a huge reserve, and advertised it for £5k on pistons heads to see if anyone would be prepared to pay that much for it.

Conviniently, someone called up offering to pay the full £5k and wanted to come and view it this morning.

The guy had all bens details, including the address where the car was kept overnight. Ben woke up this morning expecting a viewing, only to find the car was gone!

Personally, I think this seems INCREDIBLY dodgy, as the car has been kept at that address totally problem free for around 18 months. It was also parked next to a very well known 16v vauxhal powered mini worth around £10k for almost a year, again with no problems.....

Lets hope "orange" is found safe and sound.....

A very sad tale, I hope it turns up, though I would not hold out much hope Most likely to end up as "Mini Re-shell project no V5" on ebay. As regards 'letting on' storage locations, it really pays to be careful, as you never can tell. When I was running at full-tat-capacity, I rented space from Farmer_Frank, as did Mr_Bo11ox, this guy has it pretty tight, you need a security code to get past the gate either in or out, plus all the units were alarmed, plus there was usually Farmer_Frank or one of his clan on-site, avec chien et shotgun, even then you'd get twitchy with random folk coming up there to view/buy stuff (shiters excluded - moAr AlsoMike pls).

Surely there is a way of getting that guys number ?

And then from there finding his address and "Paying him a visit"

i do not endorse illegal beating the shit out of theiving scum 'wink' 'wink'

;)

Really hope he gets his mini back

I know how easily you can get attached to these cars, mine was a shitter but i loved it SO much !

Poor guy :(

Please Keep Us All Updated !!

Well!! After lots of posting on Forums and on Facebook by lots of people AMAZINGLY we found the Mini!!! :D

After it had been stolen it had been moved to another area of the city in a small cul-de-sac, parked up and covered over! Randomly a guy we know who is a delivery driver happened to be in this street today and spotted "a Mini under a cover" but didnt think anything of it until he saw everyone looking for one on the net!

He contacted a friend of mine who passed the details to me and I passed them to the owner and we all went to check it out!

Much to his relief it was his beloved car under the cover but he waited for the Police to turn up before uncovering it!

They had removed the rear window completely to gain entry but didnt smash it and left it behind, They had hotwired the car damaging the ignition and stolen the CD player from the dash! Other than this the car is fine and has now been recovered to a safe location!

It also looks like it was nothing really to do with the ebay ad or at very least someone wanted to steal it before it was sold!!

The power of the internet is amazing!!

Heres some pics from tonight...................

Glad the car has turned up. Good ol tinterweb!

On another note, why didn't the chap who owned the car, given it was his pride and joy and had set him back a fortune not bother to fit an immobiliser? Or at least an ignition cut off etc?

So many people do this. A mate of mine did the same with a custom Saab 95 he built. But you could start it with a screwdriver. Hence one night it dissapeared.. The ended wasn't so happy though.........

Glad it's been found, and more or less intact too! Hope it's stashed somewhere very secure.

I was more bothered about being led miles into teh Bedfordshire countryside by some dodgy geezer who could of had any number of henchmen hiding behind farm buildings...

Glad to hear the mini has been returned !Is abit silly he never had an immobiliser or top qual' Alarm as he has obviously spent thousands on the car.Just Glad Its Back :)

It did have a top alarm and immobiliser fitted but they got round it without a sound!! It was an integral part of the car electrics that were all custom and the only way into the car apart from removing the rear window as there were no locks or handles on the doors!! They did know what they were doing!!
