Vandalism

Woke up this morning to this:

Wee druggie bastards had done about 10 cars and 6/7 houses in our street with chrome aerosol.

For future reference, here's what I used to get it off, in order:

T Cut gets the worst of it off, but leaves wee blobs over the surface - apparently it's the solvent in the chrome paint.

This takes off the wee blobs

Takes off the remains of T Cut and Paintwork renovator

Self explanatory

Seals it all up

Phew!

It could have been worse - the cunts might have broken a window or scraped the car.

On a brighter note, the peelers have a pretty good idea who did it.

A old work mate of mine got done once, Some little feral shites went down his whole street scratching swear works on all the car bonnets and doors, He had "CU*T" in big letters on his bonnet of his 2 year old Golf.He said it was a nightmare when he went to get petrol and everyone would look at it thinking that he had upset someone.Mind you they also wrote something similar on the local vicars car.

They might have an idea who did it but they'll do fuck all about it.

Too true. In the last 5 years i have been robbed 3 times, and 3 times they have caught the people responsible and 3 times nothing has happened to them and i am nearly 2k down. Yet when you use violence against them in the absence of any kind of justice from the law its you that gets done. At least the paint could just come off with a bit of elbow grease. Totally pointless bit of vandalism.....er as opposed to worthwhile vandalism.WTF is that meant to be though? 'Triangle plus i'. Am i missing something? Does that mean something to the kids these days?

I would've used G3. Is that ATi like the ATi hardware manufacturers?

Did you contact the police? I've heard they're sometimes interested in solving crimes if they're not busy, and if the weather's not too bad.

Looking at the house up the street, I think its supposed to be "UTI", a punk band.

Yes, the cops arrived, sans camera, and were a bit gobsmacked when I handed over a couple of 6x4 prints.

I have some Farecla G3, but I find it a bit fierce. Good stuff though.

Paris is very bad for mindless scribble, luckily running (unwashed) blue vans they have to use white or silver paint, which is hard enough to get to stick at the best of times with proper prep. In the past I have even used diesel and lighter fluid to get it off, but ours are acrylic paint jobs so they can take it, and I have spare paint from each respray so if the worst comes to the worst I have been known to paint out the damage. They need to be beaten within an inch of their lives, then doused in petrol and set light.....

About 11 years ago a lad i knew who was a bit of a tosser with a screw lose went though a spell of driving into the a local pikey yard in an evening doing handbrake turns and shouting abuse at them before driving off.One night he done the same thing again but this time the pikey's was waiting for him, They blocked of the entrance of the yard with their Transit's and then turned on him with baseball bats, bricks and crowbars, Luckily for him he was still in his car so they never hit him but his 4 year old Cavalier was written off with all the damage they done plus he had to drive through a hedge to get out.Serves the stupid tosser right.

I was in Budapest earlier in the year and it was everywhere. I think that proper grafitti is good and think it should be encouraged in towns in the sides of big boring bland buildings. Like this looks loads better than a boring roller shutter.

Its pointless tagging that gets my goat.

Yeah well done for ruining someones door you bellend.

Obviously, even good grafitti is crap if its done on your car against your will, but tagging, whats the point? I see it as maybe a sort of scent marking for unintelligent pubescents.

I would say that the main problem is that for every slick grafitti artist, there's 500 teenagers who want to just draw a big nob on a phone box.

I hold the opposite view. Graffiti is supposed to be swear words, crudely drawn cocks and libellous statements about local people. That's how it's always been, ever since Adam carved "Eve is a slag" on the apple tree. That's proper, honest vandalism and it doesn't try to pretend otherwise.

The "arty" stuff really annoys me, especially the idea that it's somehow OK because the perpetrator is talented. Is it OK to be a burglar because you have a talent for picking locks? Another thing- taking over an entire wall for your self-expression is another example of the attention whoring attitude that seems to be the norm these days.

Maybe I was just born too late.

My town has a policy of removing graffiti as soon as it is done, at about 4am wh the street cleaners start. works and graffiti is rare now.I would be quire capable of tears if my S Type was done . A judge here is soon to appear in court for keying a car that parked over his driveway! Seems he was very annoyed at the time.

I have always considered that twat 'Banksy' to be a degenerate. As the rest of society appears to think he's fab, I took it to be a sign that I was born too early and have turned into a curmudgeon. Like I care.

I'd had my Leon for about two weeks when one morning I saw someone had sprayed the name "RYAN" in blue paint on my windscreen. My neighbours boy was called Ryan and I thought "cheeky bastard tagging my car, he's getting a smack for this" until I noticed his Dad's car (also a Leon, but a better one than mine!) had "RYAN IS A C*NT" sprayed on his windscreen. Luckily the paint was soft and came off with warm soapy water easily. Turns out Ryans ex girlfiend wasnt happy about him seeing some new girl and got her stupid mate to spray the insult. Apparently she went white when she realised that her mate had done both cars as she had no idea if the Bob Hoskins/Jazz Club clone next door was a reasonable fella or a lunatic. Wasnt happy but no permanent damage. Ryan received some friendly advice from me (i.e avoid psychos, I should know) and he kindly waxed my car as a way of making up for the trouble. Good lad. Still fecking annoying and unecessary though. Why not just leave insults on his Facebook site?

Dunstable is bad or was bad, last time i went, for this.My ex gfs dad had alot of cars, in fact he was alot like some people on here! But they lived on a council estate, near the fire stationOne time someone chucked a rock over the back garden fence, and it hit one of the cars windscreen, smashed it instantly. Cops did nothing, but then again they are very under pressure round there, crime is constant. I wont ever let myself get the feeling police do nothing, they did save my parents lives once. But anyway, i dont think the kids who did it were found, which is a good thing for them, as he probably would have given more than a telling off...

Part of the problem is that (as I understand it) the police can try to slap these guys on the wrist but the CPS does all it can to stop cases coming through into their "land"! TBH I'm not exactly unbiased since I want to become one of them police-men/officers!!!!m0rris

there is vandalism..and then there is public art..the two are very separate..and at least our local pool as acted as a focal point rather than the kids attacking poor blighters cars...

I'm a big fan of 'arty' graffiti, whether it be in a specially-organised place or just down some boring fencing next to the train line. Tagging is rubbish, it's just a knuckle dragging statement of writing your 'name' over and over again. It's what little kiddies do when they first learn to write.Sucks when it spreads onto personal property though, that's just not on. Glad it was removable - around here the kids seem to think it's a hoot to go out with a squeezy bottle full of paint stripper. Seen half a dozen cars in the past month with their ex-paint dribbling onto the road...
