'It's had those two things underneath done, those steering bits, but it's making another noise now'. They were very honest and suggested the gearbox. Daft bollocks here drove it home and was about a mile from base thinking there was nothing wrong with it, but the warmer it got (and I was giving it a bit) it started shaking a little, a bit like running on three, but it was gearbox related I think. By the time I got home there's a bit of a shake happening, more so at low speeds or tick-over. Think driver's seat is from a Mk2, probs from one of those versions with sort of brushed aluminium look interiors.

Still tested (November, irrc) but the box (assuming that) is probably going to kill it, sadly.

1.6 16v? If so, cheese gearboxes fitted as standard, sadly... Cog Sr. had one of these facelift Lags brand new in 1998 and it was doing what you're describing at a bare 18mths old.

Something about crappy shims down in the box... his is showing as untaxed since 2006, so I guess the 'box killed his and all.

Impressive it's managed to get to this point!
