Wanted Scrapyard Watch-Midlands and M6 corridor ish

Hi Guys. I'll be at Cannock this weekend with work and would like to try and find a scrappy with a Ford Explorer in, either midlands ish or on the M6 corridor. Can anyone give me any recommendations?

 

There's a few breaking online, I'd quite like to find an old school scrappy where i can wander in and remove bits to my hearts content though.

DVS and Chase Car Spares, Chaseside Drive WS11 7EY are about two miles from Cannock. Never visited them myself so can't comment on their wander round policy or cost of parts.

 

Just Affords are about ten miles from Cannock in Rugeley.

I have used them once about four years ago, the yard was relatively tidy and access to vehicles was good. They didn't have a problem with me removing parts myself, although they were quite expensive.

Charged  £60 for a complete front passenger door for a mk 1 Focus and £10 for a wheel with a barely legal tyre.

Normally I would have tried elsewhere but the door was the correct colour and I needed to repair the car urgently.

 

Dragged it out of its parking slot Monday ready for the breaker to collect next week.

Used to be an Exploder at Davies Salvage, on Langar airfield. I’d ring and check before going though. Was there a year ago.

They don't have one at present but the 'currently dismantling' page for Albert Looms, Derby is updated very regularly - worth keeping an eye on it
