Mash
I saw one of these this eveing. It's a Honda Horizon. Obviously a variant of the Isuzu Trooper/Vauxhall Monterey.Had a Lotus handling badge on the back too... You learn something new every day
Baz
They also sold the Honda "Crossroad"....A Land Rover Discovery Series one with Honda badges!
Timewaster
I've never seen one, but I believe there was a version on the Mk 1 Discovery marketed by Honda as the "Crossroad"Imagine that?! Must have been the shonkiest thing ever to wear a Honda badge. Pity the dealers who had to go through their drawers to find the long lost warranty forms.EDIT: Curses! Baz beat me to it! Must type faster.
shite_meister
here in Jersey there is a Honda badged Frontera-proper job from the U-S of goddam A its exactly the same as a Vauxhall Frontera but with Honda Badges and the orange side markers them yanks have. Can't think why Honda would do that-Unless it was before the CRV, Mind you-they did it with Rovers I suppose.
Mash
So they did. How bizarre
mk2_craig
Changing the subject slightly I never could understand how later examples of French market Honda Concertos were no more than rebadged Rover R8s. OK I mean I know that's basically all the Concerto was anyway... but you see what I mean
Mash
That's right, these are actually Rover 200s with Honda badges rather than a proper Concerto with all the differences. Though if I understand correctly does this only apply to the diesel versions because Honda didn't make one? The amount of cars sold in different markets under different brands would fill an entire book.Actually, I'd buy a copy....
Mr_Bo11ox
I think thats cos in France diesels are very popular and there is no diesel Concerto. So they just wanged Honda badges on a Rover 218 diesel.

Justin Case
Another aka; the Lancia Delta was sold in Sweden as the Saab 600. Now the chances of finding one of those today...........
r.welfare
There was a lot of crowing in the contemporary press about how Saab had designed the anti-corrosion measures for the Delta. Worked well, didn't it? There's loads of stuff in Oz that's rebadged dating from the late 80's/early 90's, something to do with the 'Button Plan'. You could even get a Holden Commodore badged as a Toyota Lexcen if you wanted. I think they'd dropped the Nissan engines by that time though...Not seen a Honda-badged Izusu Trooper, all the ones round here have 'BigHorn' written on the back with Lotus badges, usually being driven ridiculously slowly by women of diminished stature. KruJoe
Re the original post, didn't we have a red one like this up on the ebay thread a few weeks back? (From yank-bay) Honda Passport badged Frontera. We got similar things (usually pick-ups) in Thailand, sold as Isuzus (locally built, too). There are 10 Honda Passports on ebay.com at the mo!I couldn't find a Horizon, though. From this thread...clicky WTF?! I never knew there was badge engineering between Honda and Isuzu! That's a 6th gen Civic saloon isn't it? Well done, Sir. Have a biscuit.I read this on Thaivisa.com:Honda and Isuzu had some kind of exchange deal around '97 where the Honda Civic was badged as an Isuzu Vertex, and Honda sold a pick-up identical to the Isuzu Spacecab called the Honda Tourmaster. I'm not really sure what the point of that was.I have also seen the aforementioned pick up badged as an Opel Campo here. I read somewhere else (can't find it now) that it was beacause Honda didn't have a suitable pick-up for the Thai market (neither did Opel, it would seem), and Isuzu were without a car at the same time.As they are now. An older one: Isuzu Gemini Does that remind anyone of any Opel / Vauxhall? I thought Ascona-ish? More silliness on this page and here, too.Not to mention the Opel/Daewoo and Ford/Kia/Mazda confusion sprinkled elsewhere in the thread...

Mash
This one is a bit of an oddball, the VW Pointer which is a cross between a Polo and an Escort but kind of neither really And this one is quite familiar I think, the VW Apollo which was also sold as the Ford Verona (2-dr Orion): Another VW/Ford tie-up, the Ford Versailles which is a VW Santana but a 2-door......and a 2-dr estate And staying in Brazil, I really want one of these, a Chevrolet Monza SR
