Alfamale
I went to the auction so basically watching it to see myself on telly. Wish I’d have bought the cortina. The Moog and Aston Martin
Scruffy Bodger
I saw two episodes last night back to back. Typical staged TV which is a shame. Two cars, two episodes and same Spanish seller for each episode wtf. You can actually see the yellow Kadette in the background on the second episode. Shame really as I think Jonny is great and he's very much Autoshite. Then just ever so randomly the second buyer just happens to be a Youtube star with 7.4 million followers currently, what are the chances of that?!!! No real problem for me as Colin Furze is an absolute legend

Was a bone fide auction. Proper notices up from the borough of Rutland etc and the auctioneers name clearly printed on the plinth. Was a bit of padding definitely from hacks, Lewis Kingston and Sam Skelton were in the crowd plus a couple of others that looked familiar. The auction was publicised on social media but I think a fair few didn't show up on the day. I had the mother of all hangovers and look terrible where the camera has caught me. dollywobbler
I like Jonny Smith, and I know he had big hopes for this, but I can't even bring myself to watch it. I just have no tolerance of 'car programmes on TV' at the moment. I'd far rather watch Project Binky or Mustie1 on YouTube, going into painstaking detail about really small things. Cheezey
Really interesting content with good personalities but get annoyed at the contrived reality. The intro making out it is a ten year old business bugs me.
garbaldy
in the Toyota one you could clearly see the range rover in its untouched state so have they bought half a dozen cars and done them all at once then.
HillmanImp
What ruins car programmes is TV people. We should all do one. We'll all get along famously, then someone will tell someone else off for being racist and we can all have a massive punch up and the car will sit there in bits. Ratings winner. barrett
Tim is a good bloke. Haven't watched this, provably won't as I don't have a telly. Having nearly fallen into the pit in Tim's workshop on several occasions I'd wager the 'drama' is probably slightly less put-on than in other programmes. PiperCub
Not too bad, lacks the usual fake drama which I hate. I was racking my brains for the buyer of the Carina for several minutes until I sussed the wonderfully certifiable YouTuber Colin Furze. Liked the Kadett but those stupid wide 'Retro-Car mag' wheels with even dumber stretched tyres need to be binned. And agree that the voiceover Doris is extremely annoying and clearly someone's told her she's funny (they are wrong). meggersdog
I thought the programs should be longer with more emphasis on the repairs.Bodywork costs of £350 seemed rather low for both the Escort and Kadett. The really annoying thing (for me) is the running joke of that dog shagging Jonnys leg.Watchable program though. I thought that was Sam was in the auction crowd fiddling with his phone. Now knowing it's filmed in Rutland I will have to watch to see if Jonnys brother Greg is in the crowd.

meggersdog
This turned up todayIt failed an MOT in Stamford in November. It's booked in with me tomorrow.Apparently they have done most of the failures before selling it on...erm...not from what I've seen just moving it in the workshop. The other MOT station have date of first use down as 1/1/1988 but there are no side repeaters. It does look like a late one with those rear lights though. One thing made me smile , they seem confused thinking the oval plate number is another VIN and have failed it as such.More tomorrow if I get chance to post. skoda_fan
This turned up today Interesting. Look forward to reading the truth about it. As with all these progs, there's total concentration on the sexy cosmetic bits, and virtually nothing about getting it mechanically sorted. +1 for annoyance at the voiceover too. They do seem a genuinely nice bunch to be fair, actually managing to not constantly fall out with each other. Would be better if they did all the chat, Mike and Edd style. It's a rubbish "business", though, sometimes selling at a loss. Who are they kidding?
