So, ive only just joined this forum recently, an everyone seems to have their own thread(of one kind or another).

Im just joining in here too, i guess!...............but dont ask me any techincal shit about Volvos!...I might sound like i know what im talking about??!!...but i only really know the basics, despite owning heaps of Volvos, since the late 1980's.

Im starting off with the Volvos that i own right now(just sold my lovely C70 T5 GT Coupe) so Im left with my 1992 940 GLE 2.3 (rare 16 Valve) red block Wagon, an my 1997 850 2.3 T5 CD Wagon (daily).

Some pics, cheers Paul.

Hello & Welcome. They look nice, especially the 850 T5 estate. Is that a manual or an auto?

I also run a Volvo, an S60 T5, it's currently waiting to in go for some major surgery on Monday, it requires a new clutch slave cylinder & clutch assembly etc.

Fine cars though, especially the T5's.

keep posting your pictures & stories etc.

Cheers mate.

They are both Autos, whilst i have owned several manuals over the years, i always opt for an Auto. Back/disc injuries/problems means its so much easier to drive autos for me now.

Yes, Volvos are great...but when it goes "tits up", they tend to be expensive to fix. My arguement/offset for this situation was, that they dont go wrong that often, an they/their parts outlast many non Volvo, mainstream cars.

Your S60 T5 sounds very nice, i hope you get it sorted, with not too much expense to you. I dont have any experience with Volvos younger than the year 2000...I have always owned pre 2000 cars myself.

I have many Volvo stories, thats for sure.

Here is a lovely V70 (P1) 2.5 10 valve wagon. I bought this in Essex several years ago, because it had stupidly low mileage (65 000 miles). It was that lovely "pink" in places, but i soon sorted that!!!

I like to do things the hard way!...so i T-cut an polished the whole car by hand!!! that took me 2 Saturdays (16 man hours). It did come out real nice though.

Some pics. Its sporting 16" C70 Alloys here.

I pulled over the side of the road here, to take a pic of the mileage!!! i couldnt miss this one.

You gotta love all the 6's.

Very nice! My V70 is a scruffy bastard with 243000 on the clock but I love it.

Cheers...I sold the red one awhile back.

Nothing wrong with a "scruffy bastard volvo" mate...an they are always good for high mileage too.

Whilst i have owned many low mileage Volvos...Ive had a few high milers in the past.

I bought a maroon 240 estate in the 1990's, an even back then, it had over 250 000 miles on it!!!

It looked in mint condition, an drove just fine.

850 T5 owner here, nice cars you've had.

Cheers, good choice of vehicle that man.

850 T5's are rather nice, i find them a little more aggressive than the v70/s70/c70's...theres just something about the way an 850 T5 lays down the power.

Here is the only 960 i have ever owned...i avoided them back in the day, when i just stuck to 940's.

This one was also a stupidly low miler...i sold it with just 77 000 miles on the clock.

I would buy another one in an instant though...3.0, 24valve, straight 6, 204 BHP, non Turbo, RWD.

Just a super smooooooooooooooooth drive. But does eat petrol.

Some pics, cheers Paul.

I once drove a 960 3.0 from Kent to West Sussex & managed to get every warning light that could light up without the car stopping to appear. it was damn fun though!

Welcome, thon 850 in the first post looks lush!

Be aware that the SVM (SCOTTISH VOLVO MASSIV) will be repeatedly attempting to lure your fine cars northwards..

The main miscreants are

Davidfowler2000

CMS206

RML2345

Seriously though, they ain't really - the just tend to buy Volvo's from as far away as possible:)

Nice one, 960's are so cool, i just wish i bought more of them years ago, when there were plenty of them on the roads, now, good ones are getting hard to find.

Cheers, an yes, my 850 is nice...Its chipped/remapped(not by me, but by the previous owner of 15 years) so it can get up an go some! The Scotts know a good thing when they see one. I just hope they dont buy up all the Volvos in the land...Id hate to have to go up there and buy/bring some back!

I might have to follow this thread. I love Volvos. Father has a history of them and is currently owning a 1990s V70 himself. Lovely versatile estates they are, and your examples are luverly!

Thanks for that...good luck to your Dads P1 V70...solid cars.

So...onto another one my beauties, this one i found locally to me, a 1995 940 SE turbo HPT, with less than 100 000miles!

I had some real grief with trying to replace a fuel pump in this one!!...You have a small hatch near the rear seats to do this, but after trying to get it just right...we decided to drop the bloody fuel tank! That was some fun on my driveway, with axel stands an a trolley jack! got there in the end though.

A pic of that car then, cheers Paul.
