If you had a video camera in the 80s you probably only used it for spe cific family things or out door events but rarely film the general run of the mill.

 

But big events in the past motivated people to bust out the camera and film general streetage, in the first case it's around Surrey in a Talbot Alpine - keen eyed viewers will spot the grot - eg. SD1 at 6:50 and the bit at 7:40 in Redhill at a roundabout is great for spotting action.

I remember it well. There's a small park near us where there are still some uprooted trees that were cut up to clear the paths.

I remember it too. We have a Mk2 luton that was new in 1986, and less than a year later a tree fell across the bonnet in the storm, she still has the slight crease it it today!The year before last, I took my Mk2 SWB minibus to the shoot for the drama doc about it, transmitted on the 20th anniversary!

i remeber it well lol i had a mk1 escort pea green it was i was looking after my sisters house while she was in spain had to get my mate with his cherokee jeep to pull my car from out of the porchway because a tree had come down and pushed onto the garden

There was a good programme on this in 2007 on TV - anyone see it?The storm took out six of the seven oaks in Kent apparently (or something like that)
