tooSavvy
For Christmas I got this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ford-Design-UK-years-success/dp/1845849868/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1547500668&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=nick+hull+ford+design It details how that fake wood was created, it was quite a complicated process given the end result looked fairly artificial.“This latest Scorpio sported a further example of a new type of plastic wood process, developed by suppler Timbalex. This used a photographic wood print film suspended in a bath of water, with the component to be decorated being brought up beneath the film, which would then drape itself around the shape as it rose”. First used on the 95 ‘frog eye’ Scorpio. BTW I can thoroughly recommend the book, there are a few sellers on Amazon who will do it for about £25.See these guys [jump to 8:42] putting a 'wet transfer' onto this cambox cover. https://youtu.be/FJU2Utmk__Q They do it to some other bits too - looks like a business they promote for themselves... Guest Hooli
Aye that does look too low to me. They look too high standard, but that's too much of a difference for my eyes.
fordperv
Aye that does look too low to me. They look too high standard, but that's too much of a difference for my eyes. This was exactly my feeling, I wanted to set it to 1 finger gap between tyre top and arch front and 2 fingers between tyre top and arch rear it's a shame because I can get it to the height I want at the front, but the rears are at maximum height in the pic so I had to bring the front down to get the sill line level to the floor, I'm on the look out for some lowering springs then I'll fit them to the rear then make the front perfect
Guest Hooli
Yeah 1 finger or 1/2" is what always looks right to me too. It's where I run an Orion years ago on cut XR3i springs. fordperv
