Thanks Andy, I have passed on your photos. Tête de bite is waiting form a mate to arrive via Halfords who have* one in stock. After that I'll call autoaid and try and get there before they do.

You see the problem there is that alarm fob was probably not make in the UK, hence why it's broken. I'm sure once it's sorted you'll have many* miles of trouble free motoring from the excellent British engineering.

The battery holder has broken off the circuitboard so i’m not sure a new battery is the answer.

Is the Eka code handily written in the handbook?

Total long shot, but is there a PC world anywhere near you.

Someone in there may have a soldering iron, and may be able to solder the connections back on.

Aware that's a big ask, but you don't ask, you don't get,.

Will the EKA code still be viable? Believe from previous posts it's a JDM car with a different immobilizer/alarm

Would Ken / Jon know or have record of the code?

I'm also assuming that the battery cage would work just in contact, rather than soldered? TdB suggests it looks like it was glued on previously

I'm sure Ken have me a file of stuff when I picked this up, but I'm fucked if I can find it, which irritates me greatly.

I'll keep looking, in case it yields a mystery number or some such.

Status update?

Would have thought the fob would work with the battery cage just held in place.

Also, have called out autoaid once or twice and never been asked for ID, just to squiggle on a reciept.

Brings to mind an issue a friend had with a 218sd years ago (N Reg) and had to have someone out when it wouldn't start after having been parked at the local hospital, car was removed by recovery truck and worked fine when back home, only thing it could be put down to was signal being jammed by all the radio kit around the hospital..

Bad luck on being spotted skiving.

Ha, ha. Many, many years ago, before I met her, Mrs (obviously not then) BMH rang in to her mate's place of work telling them she was was ill and wouldn't be in. Her mate rang her place of work and did the same.
Both jumped on a train to Looondoon to watch the tennis. Unfortunately it pissed it down, guess who's picture appeared on the pages of many newspapers? They didn't get sacked but 'torn a strip off' was a mild description.
