Fabergé Greggs
Here’s a story for y’all: Today at work, I interviewed the chap who’s the administrator of the Japanese Honda Accord Owners club and forum for a completely unrelated to cars job. He runs it from here in London. He has one of these and was an incredibly nice man. Incredibly nice. Skizzer and The Moog
DodgyBastard
There's one of these in my local scrapyard selling for £450 ono with some mot on it. G556 AJT by Andy Campbell, on Flickr This one as spotted by CMS a couple of years ago. It didn't look too bad, some rust on the arches and a busted ignition, I think it must have been written off after an attempted theft. michael t
What a fantastic little car! Love the very period wedge shaped rear glass line on these. Top buy!

dollywobbler
Still, that's pretty tempting. How local Shite_Knight - would you be able to have a nose around it? Skizzer
DodgyBastard
Still, that's pretty tempting. How local Shite_Knight - would you be able to have a nose around it? I've had a quick look around it but can always go back with my camera and take some better photos if it's still there. It's less than 5 miles away so no major inconvenience. The only damage I could see was the wires hanging out of the ignition barrel, the rest of the interior was in fairly good condition. Skizzer
A quick update after a long silence: The Aerodeck is now freshly MOTd after a wee tickle at the rear of the sills. My friendly local tester/garage pronounced it a very good car, and he’s right - everything still works in spite of a lack of recent use. It’s tucked up warm in the shed now — I think I might take it to London next week, a run will do it good. danthecapriman, Stevebrookman, Sir Snipes and 15 others

Skizzer
On 2/11/2020 at 5:07 PM, Skizzer said: It’s my 10-year anniversary on AS today. I’m not sure whether this calls for a celebration or a course of therapy. I am marking it by commuting 185 miles in a 31 year old Japanese shooting brake with popup headlamps. That’ll do. As posted in the News 24 thread, this was my weapon of choice for the round trip to London this week. All went swimmingly well. The Accord is quiet and relaxed on the motorway, with little engine drone — 70mph is 3000rpm, 75 is about 3250 — and little road or wind noise either for a 35 year old design. The seat back is extremely supportive, with excellent lumbar support, though the base is a bit soft. This could be down to age (the car’s, not my posterior’s, thanks for asking) although it’s only done 77,000 miles. The main comfort demerit, as @Vantman observed when he sold it to me, is that there’s no proper rest for your left foot (which has nothing to do, it being an automatic). Even so, I was still able to skip about like a young ’un after 200 miles. Well, sort of. Fuel economy was very surprising: brim to brim on the trip back was a teaspoon under 24 litres, about 5.27 gallons, and that got us 192 miles of motorway plus a couple of local errands. I make that 36.4mpg, which I call extremely impressive for a carburetted executive 2-litre auto from the 1980s. To do list? Oil change; wiper blades; pull the stereo out so I can get the code. That’s it. Great car. ProgRocker, BorniteIdentity, Schaefft and 8 others
Skizzer
By the way: Is it a more comfortable cruiser than my modern Skoda or BMW 4-series? Well, no, though it runs the BMW close — that car is marred by an overfirm ride and offset pedals. But it does make you wonder at what meagre progress carmakers have made in the last 30 years. And it still looks sharp. BorniteIdentity, blakey79, Sir Snipes and 7 others
320touring
I remember this being more than sufficient 'car' when we collected it. 36mpg is decent, and sounds like no ill effects on the driver. Almost all the car anyone could need. Skizzer and Vantman
