Can you see through from one end to the other?

It should be full of honeycomb type stuff, if it's full if dust it sounds like they drilled some holes through it but didn't get it all out.

It's completely hollow as per your expectations.

Exhaust finished just short of a clamp and two rubber hangers which I'll grab in the morning.

Phew.

Great effort so far mate, can't say I would bother with the valve as it drives fine with the EML on anyway.

As long as you/future owner have a means to knock the light off for MOT it'll be reet.

I'm On my way of those weirdos who can't do with it being on. It just keeps shouting at me.

Did you clean the existing one? I recall you mentioning something about it but my memory is shocking.

Yes I did, I took it off and cleaned it as I've had the same problem on other JTDs in the past.

It was clean already though, and even with the solenoid bit detached from the valve it didn't do anything when activated in diagnostics.

Could you do me a massive favour and take a picture of how the clip is attached to the handbrake cable under the gater below the handbrake lever?

When I took it apart last year after the cable broke I've not been able to get it back correctly.

No problem when I climb back under later. Or do you mean inside?

Inside if possible, the gater just lifts up and there is the cable attachment to the lever, a white plastic tube and a spring clip holding it.

Bums got sidetracked today visiting poorly relative. Will grab one in daylight.

Plus side did another 100 or so motorway miles and used the last of the free* fuel.

30 litres of Tesco's finest and its ready for 390 miles apparently? Optimist designed the range doofer.

Made me adjust it too so it doesn't catch my leg every time I get out.

Anyway looks like he cable passes though and retained by a couple of plastic nuts. Very easy to adjust too
