My Mrs has volunteered me to 'diagnose/sort' a friends car -long distance (about all I'm good for at pres).Seems its a Mercedes A190 -prob3 yrs old(ish).Horrific (their words-not mine)smell of petrol on startup/whilst cold-going away as it warms up. Terrible mpg too.Local Mercedes franchise can smell the fuel, cant find the fault-I'm told...I suggested 'cold start injector' followed by new fuel lines- but I've never even opened the bonnet on one...So-anyone familiar, any known probs? Help----please?

Good luck! My wifes a-class smells of petrol, but only when it's about half full. Breathers around the tank perish/fall off so I'm told. Not bad cars to drive as it goes, but I've tried to avoid working on it. The horn has packed up on ours. I've spent over half an hour looking for it. Where the hell do they hide the horn?!Modern cars... Pah
