red5
It's on way. The leak isn't bad, I've be driving it 38 miles a day since Mo broke it. Only stopped when solenoid threw a fit after the fecking Mot. And it's oil change. I was about to buy two ditchfinders and a resistor for blower then the Escort turned up again. Ps, the rear trims are mostly in boot. Still.
Steve79
My 45td is doing this at the moment. Failed solenoid also means it won't rev above 4000rpm and mpg's will greatly suffer. Mines doing around 32mpg. I'm driving around in the 75 until I can be arsed to sort it. Solenoid new is around £130 for the part and same as fitted to ford tddi https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283288581306
red5
It depends on how far timing drops out. Mine hasn't put light on. Yet...
Kiltox
If you’re not in a massive hurry for someone to come and pick this up tomorrow I’ll have it. Can smack the funds over to you in advance by bank transfer / PayPal if you want. Would also support it being long term loaned to Lord Sterling to alleviate his car woes once it’ll keep hold of its coolant Kringle, D Spares & Tyres, Lord Sterling and 10 others

I’m pretty easy either way - you’re welcome to buy it and crack on or I’ll buy it and you can use it for as long as you want? If someones near me in grimsby they can collect but if not ill just chance it and try to post with royalmail, if it goes to you mo ive got some rover 800 centre caps (i think) and maybe same other rover bric-a-brac that ill post with it. Dropping like flies lately these MG-Rover cars save it (even for a while) someone.

Matty
The floorpan advisory is quite common for these cars, it sounds bad but isn't that bad. I have been on the lookout for an L series motor but I don't fancy any car jobs at all just now, even topping up the washer fluid is a chore. GLWTS, it's practically free FFS!Just to say that knowing several mot testers and especially under the new rules everyone is getting shit hot on everything and will advise on everything they see as it's not worth taking the risk to ignore it. How many mot histories have people seen recently which advise on surface corrosion to suspension components? Everyone knows this will happen shortly after fitting them but testers are still advising on it now because it's preferable to being caught out! Doesn't make a car a bad one necessarily. bangernomics, Laseraligningfoofooflanges, D Spares & Tyres and 1 other
red5
Provisionally sold. Thanks for the kind words, interest and offers. At least two firm offers, so she'll live on. A small aside, can I make a polite request that we try and be a little more understanding of others views and remind ourselves that 'text' is hard to gauge conversation-wise. Thank you. Matty
Amen to that. Seems it gets a bit pistonheads on here at times and no one likes to feel like they're walking on eggshells D Spares & Tyres, Burnside and bangernomics
The Old Bloke Next Door
Arrived at WS 12 today courtesy of Lord Stirling's excellent delivery service. I have to say it looks even better in the metal than in the pictures. Also the tractor noise isn't too loud so hopefully my tame mechanic can fix it cheaply. Where else other than Autoshite could you buy something this good for scrap money! I'll start a new thread when some progress is achieved. Lord Sterling
Yep. Good to meet you again John. On the way to drop it off I caught sight of its facelifted stablemate: On the way back home I got back to Kidderminster and caught sigjt if the steam train, I'd failed to catch it on New Years Day so I was determined not to miss it this time. I was a few seconds away from them closing the doors. Thankfully there was an old chap trying to catch it at the same time so I caught up and we both got the steam train. Steam train is actually cheaper than a taxi and more fun. Uppn arriving back I saw this in the carpark: Keep us updated with the MG John. Looking forward to it!
