DodgyBastard
1983 Mercedes 280ce Automatic The car starts stops and drives and is in great condition underneath. The rear arches are a bit scabby and there's a dent in one of the wings, I'm sure the mileage is around 150k.It is currently on Irish plates and needs imported/registered here in the UK, I have the logbook and associated paperwork required for this.It is being sold for restoration, I don't know exactly what it will need for an mot but having driven it a few miles I think it will need the brakes renewed, tyres and a front wheel bearing.Interior is good but there's some bolster wear on the drivers seat. Skizzer
That wouldn’t take huge amounts to make it very tidy (for anyone so minded) and these are on the up. I can easily imagine you getting the asking: a scruffy but solid 230CE sold on the bay for £2200 the other week I believe. Sorting the papers out might oil the wheels if you can face the hassle. Not for me at the moment, sorry, but have a bump back to page 1.
HillmanImp
Feck, thats a bargain. I looked at one in York that was nearly twice that price about 8yrs ago and it was rotten as a pear.
Uncle Jimmy
JRG for da winnerz. Will need new exhaust by the looks of it. Why do motors like this come up when I'm busy as feck and have three other cars requiring work.
artdjones
If you can't face changing the papers, why not put it for sale on the Vintage section of Done Deal here in Ireland. It doesn't cost much, and the car could be driven to Ireland by the buyer without a marathon drive by using the Cairnryan to Larne ferry and then driving down to the South.Tbh I'm very tempted myself, but I know I wouldn't have the time to do anything about it until early in the new year, and I don't like messing people about. dieselassist

sierraman
Looks like a sound basis for a project that does. Are the lower 3/4 valance panels available to repair the under bumper area?
Uncle Jimmy
And quite a project it will be! I was not a little tempted by this old tart but I think I'll turn my man radar elsewhere.
